STAY TUNED TO RandomHype.com or here at the Random.Hype MySpace!!
Random.Hype is an establishment dedicated to educating the masses and promoting creativity and unity amongst those within the hip-hop culture and the bboy community.
“Random.Hype†spawned from the true essence of the Hip Hop culture. Hip Hop is unpredictable; anyone can step up and knock someone else down. No matter what you do, b-boy, emcee, graffiti, dj, etc. if your skills aren’t up, you can get burnt. Additionally, Hip Hop is all hype, we all can talk a big game, but whether or not you back up your hype…that is on you. “There are reasons people win battles, and there are reasons people lose them. Which is your reason?†If you can’t back up what you talk, then “step it up or step offâ€.
Random.Hype recognizes that Hip Hop is everywhere. It has infiltrated all cultures. B-boys now come in all different shapes and forms: thugs, punk rockers, underground heads, artists, abstracts, even “emo-coreâ€, yet they are all truly Hip Hop. We encourage diversity, and know that what was considered at one point to be 4 elements, has grown far beyond that. Therefore, as an event production/promotion organization, we bring that diversity to light, and create an environment where all are unified based on their love for the dance and the culture.
What is Equilibrium?
equil•lib•ri•um:
a state of balance between opposing forces.
Balance. That is the key to being the ideal bboy. One has to have a balance of style and originality, while maintaining the foundational aspects of bboying as a dance. One must know his/her body and its relation to gravitational force; only then can one defy it.
Random.Hype and the Propaganda Apparel Brand have formed a partnership to bring you, the Equilibrium (EQB) Series, a three part bboy competition, where the best of the best across the country are invited to come and represent their crew and their area in what is to be the biggest bboy event on the eastcoast. Our goal is to represent the true essence of the competetive nature of the dance and the culture. We believe that the best isn’t always synonymous with the most noted or recognized; the best is based solely on skill, creativity, and excecution. Hence, through a diverse judges panel, we take the opportunity to remove the politics from bboying and deliver the most fair and unbiased descions.
Format:
The first two events in the series will consist of 32(+) crews (each jam) of 5 people. (5 on 5) The first place winner for each jam will recieve an award of $1000.
The top 3 crews from each of the first two jams will be automatically placed in the final jam of the series, EQB Omega, to compete for the estimated grand prize of $4000+ and the title of EQB Champion. An additional 16 crews will be able to compete for 2 open positions in the battle for the grand prize.
