the wednesday society formed in founder nick curcio's head during a philosophy and religion class one fall day at a harkness table in a classroom in exeter, new hampshire. taking its name from the society formed by sigmund freud, which met wednesday afternoons to discuss his theories, the wednesday society represents a step away from typical electro music. curcio and trevor schlingheyde, the other half of the duo, don't shy away from such influences as dashboard confessional and the spill canvas, while putting to use the skills they acquire from their ultimate and favorite influence, the valerie crew from france.
the wednesday society brings the electro pop genre to the states in its own unique way. while most of the songs are excellent to dance to, they possess a bright yet demure quality that makes them perfect for soundtracking long car rides or for providing background to a lasting glance off a high, rolling hill. they will tug you by the heartstrings, drag you out onto the dance floor, and hold you there till your feet won't move any more.
Look for the Wednesday Society's EP, "We'll Always Have Paris," to come out in April on rising indie record label Favorite Boyfriend Records.
