Born in Williamston, NC as William Rhodes, P-Batters learned about Hip-Hop from a cousin named JAB who later passed away. His cousin’s untimely death inspired him to start writing rhymes. He then moved to Raleigh, NC and was known as Pie and stepped into the Rap game as P-BATTERS. “Everything was gradual for me, P-Batters said.†“I’m in the construction state right now trying to build an empire.†P-Batters has gone from, “who are you?†to “your joint is hot!†in a very short amount of time. P-Batters had always had lyrical admirers, but that wasn’t enough for him. Destined for stardom, P-Batters wound up pitching his lyrics catching the attention of anyone willing to listen. His big break came when Radio One’s WQOK K97.5 in Raleigh, NC aired a promo that he recorded for one of the on-air personalities. The promo became so big that listeners called and requested it so much that it was put into heavy rotation. Tens of thousands of people tuned in to bob their heads to this 2-minute lyrical master. P-Batters new found fame has not changed his outlook on the music industry. He says “Music is like life, it has its ups and downs.†On the upside is his music career. He has been busy working on his debut album “Now or Never†with platinum producers such as 9th Wonder, Kwame, Ski, T y Fyffe, Black Jeruz, and J-Praize who have produced hits for many major artists. His first single and video “Home of the Liquor House†is being serviced to radio, and all media outlets. His plate has been full with concerts, performing with some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop such as JAY-Z, 50cent, Jadakiss, Young Jeezy, and Nas.
