About Me

I like hiking, backpacking (I see a difference there...), rock climbing (yes, I do this rarely), working on the computer I built, downloading live music (almost 600GB so far), listening to a fraction of what I download. I like to sit in front of my computer and read message boards about hiking the Appalachian Trail, which hope to do someday. I like spending my hard earned money on hiking gear and computer stuff that I rarely use :). Fun hobbies. I like traveling, and usually travel to go to concerts (Boston, Los Angeles, NC, OH, ATL, etc). Nowdays I do more family travel.... with my girlfriend to her dad's or with my family, etc. I like taking pictures, and while I can see drastic improvements in ability over the years (since I started digital in 2002), I'm still not even decent enough to be considered an amateur photographer. Still, it's fun.
I don't like to hang things on the wall.
I collect the following:
- Bic Clic Stic pens, with different logos... I guess I have about 400. I will trade something I have for pens I don't have.
-Hiking related stickers (or other me related stickers).
- Nalgene bottles.
I fancy myself an expert on many things which I am not.
I enjoy nerdy things. I consider myself a nerd, but consider that a quality. Maybe "nerd" isn't the precise word that fits, but it comes close.
Absolute favorite word or phrase, both verbal and IM: w00t!!!! edits:
2006.02.28 Last weekend I gave up cursing. It's true. I say much much less than I used to.... kind of bad. But at least I'm not cursing! As I expected, it hasn't been all that hard, but I do have to think about it usually. So one week and only a handful of curse words. Nice. This week maybe I'll give up something else. Or pick up some exercising, which I really want to do. Yes, that's the ticket.

Make your bed!

I always think it's funny when someone says "make your bed".  I really did make my bed.  I took lumber from [large retail home improvement store]'s, and using a saw, screws, and my blinding ...

more nonsense (that I think about)

Here's something else I think about.  When I'm laying (lying? whatever) in my bed at night my room is still illuminated enough that I can see clearly.  That's partly due to the outside light...

Ever wonder what goes through my head when I'm trying to go to sleep?  Here's a good example.  The other day, Last Samurai  happened to be on HBO.  I watched it, because I like it....
