The Sound of Perseverance

I am here for Friends

About Me

I was raised in the foothills of California. I'm blunt at times but I try my best to be sensitive to others feelings. I'm not scared to talk about anything at all and usually I do talk about everything. I respect other people's opinions but I love to challenge them. I'm very opinionated but even more open to new ideas and experiences. When confronted with something that I disagree with I'm still very willing to listen and to change if the evidence in the discussion warrants it.

My Interests

My current interests are philosophy (ethics), psychology, religion, spirituality, symbology, sociology, music, tarot, politics, martial arts, fitness, frisbee, hockey, juggling, singing, skiing, hiking, camping, travel, meditation, Tai Chi, civil discussion/debate, Smash Bros. (Gamecube!), socializing with unique and idiosyncratic people, and being critical for the sake of entertainment. I'm very immersed into advancing and expanding my consciousness and becoming the most complete person I can be. The Mythological God Test :

Amun
(Indeed, you are 91% erudite, 87% sensual, 58% martial, and 62% saturnine.)

Amun was a mysterious God indeed. His very name basically means "what is hidden", "what is not seen", "what cannot be seen", and though even his form was said to be "unknown", he was depicted as a man with the head of a uraeus (cobra), or a man seated on a throne and holding in one hand the sceptre, and in the other the ankh. All secrets aside, what we do know is that Amun was the Egyptian King of the Gods, not unlike his counterparts Zeus (Greek mythology) and Odin (Norse mythology). With his ruling might over the Gods, Amun soon became associated with the Pharaohs.Being responsible for the creation of the world, it is not surprising that he was also the God of fertility, reproduction, and sexual power, and thus also the God of agriculture. With the combined powers of regeneration and royalty, Amun became linked to the sun and the great God Ra, becoming known as Amun-Ra, which pretty much consolidated his status as Supreme God.In spite of Amun's political ascension, he also enjoyed popularity among the common people of Egypt, who came to call him the vizier of the poor, the protector of the weak, and an upholder of justice.

I'd like to meet:

I'm really interested in meeting as many people with unique ways of looking at the world as possible. I prefer meeting positive and concise individuals. I like intellectuals and opinionated persons (within reason) the most but everyone has something worth while to say, so I don't discriminate.

You scored as Hedonism. Your life is guided by the principles of Hedonism: You believe that pleasure is a great, or the greatest, good; and you try to enjoy life's pleasures as much as you can.

"Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die!"

You scored as Strong Egoism. Your life is very much guided by the concept of Egoism: You work primarily to promote your own interests.

"I swear by my life, and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine."
"I am not primarily an advocate of capitalism, but of egoism; and I am not primarily an advocate of egoism, but of reason. If one recognizes the supremacy of reason and applies it consistently, all the rest follows."
--Ayn Rand

You scored as Divine Command. Your life is directed by Divine Command: Your god and religion give you meaning and direction.

"Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations."

--Jeremy Bentham

"Whenever the general disposition of the people is such, that each individual regards those only of his interests which are selfish, and does not dwell on, or concern himself for, his share of the general interest, in such a state of things, good government is impossible."
--John Stuart Mill

Movies:

My immediate family and friends are huge movie goers and although I am not as refined a connoisseur as some I am not the exception. I enjoy films from a large chuck of the spectrum but my tastes are not as diverse as my music interests. I don't get exposed to many independent films unfortunately, so most of what I've seen and enjoyed is main stream, with the exception of maybe a few. Pulp Fiction, Shine, What Dreams May Come, When Harry Met Sally, Jackie Brown, Fargo, Interview with a Vampire, The Cell, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (He wore that guys face, omg), One flew over the Coo Coo's nest, Heavy Metal the original, A Beautiful Mind, Kill Bill, Dragon Ball Z!, Léon the Professional, Reefer Madness the Musical (Intense), Zoolander, Riki-Oh The Story of Riki, Happy Gilmore, City of Lost Children, Dark City, The Matrix, and Office Space. "Update:" Hollywood sucks these days, *sigh.

Television:

Comedy Central and Adult Swim are the saving grace of the now deep and dark world that is satellite TV. The Chapelle show, Family Guy, South Park, Drawn Together, Venture Brothers, Inuyasha, and Dragon Ball Z are some shows I favor in my rare interactions with the 'idiot box'.

You are The Sun

Happiness, Content, Joy.

The meanings for the Sun are fairly simple and consistent.

Young, healthy, new, fresh. The brain is working, things that were muddled come clear, everything falls into place, and everything seems to go your way.

The Sun is ruled by the Sun, of course. This is the light that comes after the long dark night, Apollo to the Moon's Diana. A positive card, it promises you your day in the sun. Glory, gain, triumph, pleasure, truth, success. As the moon symbolized inspiration from the unconscious, from dreams, this card symbolizes discoveries made fully consciousness and wide awake. You have an understanding and enjoyment of science and math, beautifully constructed music, carefully reasoned philosophy. It is a card of intellect, clarity of mind, and feelings of youthful energy.

Books:

The Lazy Man's Guide to Enlightenment by Thaddeus Golas, Socrates In Love by Christopher Phillips, The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene, Earth Magic 'A Dianic book of Shadows' by Marion Weinstein, Ethics for Modern Life by Raziel Abelson and Marie-Louise Friquegnon, and The Book of Angels by Ruth Thompson, L.A. Heroes:

Everyone who makes a stand in their life for something to be who they are, Mom and Dad, anyone who knows how to love in a unique way, and last but not least, G-O-D! Note: God represents a non specific, omnipresent clause that transcends all social and non-social constructs, symbols, and prejudices that would add definition to the indefinable nature of thus said word. ;)
