Flicks (indie, foreign, and documentaries preferred, but buy me popcorn and I'll sit through just about anything), recursion, politics (stand to the far left please), art (high- and low-brow, ancient to modern. Current faves: Sue Coe, Joe Coleman, Mark Ryden), sarcasm, beisbol, coffee, road trips with the radio on, ellipses...
Art lovers and art makers. Skewed senses of humor, quirky sensibilities, and healthy amounts of self-deprecation appreciated.
Songs of desperation and chaos. Harmonious cacophony. Actually, I'll give anything at least one listen. If I can sing along, tap my foot, or dance to it, it's pretty much a keeper. Always and forever: glitter, glam, punk, funk, power pop, anything young, loud, and snotty.
Fave flicks? Too many to list, but off the top of my head: Ghost Dog, Don't Look Back, Don't Look Now, Spider, The Tenant, Clockwork Orange, Happy Accidents, Secretary, Belle de Jour, Blade Runner, Velvet Goldmine, Two Lane Blacktop, Grey Gardens, Wings of Desire, Mishima, Dead Man, Aguirre: The Wrath of God, Masked and Anonymous, Gates of Heaven, Barry Lyndon, Female Trouble, Pi, Videodrome, Gods and Monsters, Confidentially Yours, The Lady Eve.....
The tres chic response is to say I don't watch. Well I do (and so do most of those people who say they don't). Not obsessively mind you, although I try to regularly catch Meet The Press...and Law & Order - all 4000 of 'em. Otherwise, it's mostly baseball or hockey...
The library is a favorite haunt. I abide by their rules and leave the bedroll behind, and in turn, they kindly store all those books for me.
Fave reads include: Days Between Stations, Heart of Darkness, Crash, The Recognitions, Alice in Wonderland, The Crying of Lot 49, Underworld, Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung, The Curious Case of Sidd Finch, Lithium for Medea....
