Acting is half shame, half glory. Shame at exhibiting yourself, glory when you can forget yourself.

About Me

I am someone imperfectly me :)*Make a parade of every moment*

My Interests

I have a passion for music, theatre, performing, tapping, percussion, and poker :) I also love my friends (they are the most amazing people in the world!), anything orange (especially burnt orange, my favorite color!), shopping, and lots of other random things like frogs (I have a frog named JoJo), bunnies (I have a white bunny named Binky), Playboy bunny merchandise, pictures, Kikkoman soy sauce, cheese, pints of interesting ice cream flavors, words, in-depth conversations, almost any kind of dessert, potatoes cooked almost any way, Playbills, performing for little kids, a dry sense of humor, laughter, roller coasters, smiley smiles, dresses, backwards high fives, flowers, sparkles, metallic things, lotions/perfumes that smell like dessert, old fashioned keys, lip glosses that smell AND taste yummy, anything miniature, Asian stuff, Jewish stuff, profound quotes… and a lot of other eclectic things, but I don’t want to ramble too much :)

I'd like to meet:

I have met so many AMAZING people over the years and I'd like to continue meeting such fabulous people :) I love getting to know new people!Oh and then of course I would love to meet the musical and theatrical geniuses that have put such brilliant music into the world or have brought art to life!

Music:

I am not afraid to admit that I am a major musical theatre dork :D I absolutely love my iPod to death and the music on there is about 97% musical theatre! Some of my favorite composers have got to be William Finn, Jason Robert Brown, Stephen Sondheim, Stephen Schwartz, David Yazbeck, some of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Mel Brooks and Jonathon Larson. I also love any music that addresses controversial topics (which many of the previously listed composers to do ever so well ;]) and anything that seems very conversational (like one of my newest obsessions [title of show]!) The other 3% of my iPod is mixture of songs that just make me happy or remind me of things that make me happy (music triggers some vivid déjà vu) and some of my favorite artists or non-musical CDs: Michael Bublé, Peter Cincotti, Look Around, Wearing Someone Else’s Clothes, Across the Universe and music from the TV shows House and Friends.

Movies:

I really love watching movies, but I am super indecisive so I really can’t pick a list of favorites! So in general I like horror movies (even if they are really bad because then they become comedies in my eyes), comedies, pretty much anything that’s a musical, and movies that make you think…the ones that have a lot of metaphors and are usually based off of books. Anything complex and usually a bit on the dark side fairs well with me too. Actually I think any type of movie is good except if its straight action or the story line takes forever or doesn’t make sense. But even in those cases if there is at least one actor or actress that gives a great performance I think they are worth watching. The “diamond in the rough movies” are always great too (you know where there is only one to rent and you’ve never heard of it but you get it anyways and it’s amazing). Formula movies are also a bit annoying but I will usually watch any movie just because I love being able to get into the characters’ heads for a few hours ;)

Television:

I’m usually not home to watch many TV shows, but if I am I choose a fantastic select few to watch :D I’m a fan of House M.D. (the sarcasm and humor is great without the cheesy medical drama plotlines), Family Guy (Stewie & Brian are my favorites), Hell’s Kitchen, the World Series of Poker and the World Poker Tour (Scotty Nguyen is one of my favorite players), the occasional South Park episode, The Colbert Report, The Soup! (Joel McHale is hysterical), and a lot of shows on Food Network.

Books:

Being forced to read books for school for so long has kind of turned me off of simply reading a novel out of enjoyment :( But I still have a few favorite writers: William Shakespeare, Edgar Allen Poe, Victor Hugo, Anthony Rapp and Stephen King. I still love reading any play that is put in front of me too! I can never put down the ones with truly developed complex characters and juicy plots :D

Heroes:

I think of heroes as people you can always depend on... So I would definitely have to say that my mom is my number one hero because she has supported me 110% in every aspect of my life and she is the epitome of a wonderful mom and a fantastic stage mom (the good kind ;])! And of course all of my friends are fantastic and each are super heroes in their own way! I love them to death and I know they'll be there for me when the rain starts to pour, like they've been there before, because I'm there for them toooo :D

My Blog
