About Me

I'm a mature woman searching for convivial conversation about current science,medicine,art,nature,music...most anything but opera and sports.

My Interests

I have few neighbors out here so I'm looking for the occasional chat AND I'd like to find folks who don't mind giving me a little help in becomming more computer savvy. I'm hoping Myspace will be a sort of training ground where I can learn how to find and use all the neat stuff out there. As for my interests...they are very diverse. "The world is so full of a number of things that I'm sure we should all be as happy as kings."

I'd like to meet:

...people of any age who can converse with wit and intelligence, and with a wide enough vocabulary not to need to resort to 4letter babytalk to get a point across. You don't need a degree, nor need be a "hottie" nor do I have an age nor any other predjudice. No recent photo either. So...can we talk??

Music:

Love music-all kinds but mostly melodic.Pretty much Mozart to McLaughlan and Mobie and beyond.I rely on my son to keep me up to speed at least on what he likes. Dance TranceMixes are great. (90% of everything is lame but there's a whole lot left after you strain it out)I like some of everything, gothcountrysingersongwriterbluegrassoperatribalam biantrocketc. You don't know til you try and there is no age appropriate music.

Movies:

My husband is the moviefreak, but i'm only a step behind. Netflix has been our salvation; oldies,indies...we even had a film made on our property(we housed some of the cast too)and it got a shot at Sundance! Ahem, yes, well, very into movies.

Television:

Don't seem to have much time for TV but I admit to enjoying the Cop and CrimeScene stuff. We prefer dramas to sitcoms which seem pretty silly and/or oversexed lately. I must miss alot of good stuff simply because I don't look past IFC.PBS BBCAM,SCI,DISC andTCM then I get confused by all the long channel numbers.Used to love Buffy but there is little good fantasy of late.

Books:

Heavy duty reader. Novels from 19thC French,Brit. Amer.to the latest. I like to have 2 or 3 different types at hand so I can fit my mood-of-the-day.Mystery,horror,fantasy,crime,drama for boring days and non-fiction bios, history, natural history, physics etc. then science mags for reality checks. Always seeking suggestions. Art books are pricy but I love them too, especially Pre-Raphael and modern fantasy art.

Heroes:

Many...gotta think about this
