Charlie Pantalones

The Flesh Monster has revealed itself!

About Me

I play the saxophone and teach private sax, clarinet and flute lessons. I also play a little bit'o bass, drums, guitar, and keyboards (not all at once), and can sing in tune most times. I do music clinics at various schools in CT. Right now i'm "officially" in 4 bands, "Otisburg" (i play bass in this one...), "Burt Teague Band" , "6 Piece Nastee" , "Soul Syndicate" . Theres a bunch of other bands that i play with also. Yuh never know where i'll turn up.(keep an eye on the calendar below)
Used to be in an original band called "Adios Pantalones" . We called it quits a few years ago, but still do an occasional "reunion" gig. I like doing recording sessions. Really into trying to get things right. I have a hard time saying, "ehh, it's good enough" if i think it can be better.
Given the choice, I'd prefer a dog to a cat, as long as it's not a little toy dog (I grew up w/big dogs), but i get along w/cats too. Don't like peppers. Don't think broccoli belongs on a pizza, but for some reason ham and pineapple are okay. Like to cook, but bad at the planning ahead part, so i don't end up cooking very often. Like NYC and Boston, but couldn't live there cuz i like being in the boonies. If i can't buy what i'm looking for, i'll make it myself or find something close and modify it, which sometimes is a really bad idea, but it's fun. I know enough about cars and computers to sometimes fix 'em, but also get myself into trouble. Not even close to a metro sexual, but i try be neat. Can't stand the fact that clothing is a status symbol to some people. If it's clean and it fits, yer done. Dropping loads of cash on something simply beacuse, "It's a (insert designer name here)" completely baffles me .....
And there yuh go

My Interests

Music
playing it, teaching it, recording it, arranging it, going to live shows, just being around it in general.
Photography. Movies. Being outdoors doing pretty much anything, as long as i'm not freezin' my butt off.
Just getting into mountain biking (nothing too hardcore). I'm okay on a pair of rollerblades, too. I'm aslo an accomplished couch potato - I've been known to literally do nothing for a day every once in a while.
Laughing 'til it hurts. My family. Hangin w/my friends. People watchin'.
Goin out to eat. I'm not super adventurous when it comes to food, but i'll try it.
Martial Arts (i don't train anymore, though) Playing some sports, not watching them on TV.
And just trying to keep my life as stress free as possible by avoiding "drama" and not wasting my energy on things i have no control over, like say traffic for instance.

I'd like to meet:

I'm really just here because i know a bunch of people and bands on MySpace, and got pissed cuz i couldn't "view more pics"
- but now that i'm here, less do diss!

Music:

Totally depends on my mood. Jazz, Living Colour, bluegrass, James Brown, classical, Stevie Wonder, techno, drum 'n' bass, Barenaked Ladies, Beethoven, Harry Connick Jr., Tribe Called Quest and anything inbetween. There are tunes by any band, in pretty much any style that i'll like, or not. I used to say, "I hate that kind of music", or "that band", then at some point in the future, i'd actually end up liking some of what i said i hated, so i don't say that anymore. There's a bunch of local and or "indie" bands that i'd rather listen to than what's on the radio - i hardly EVER listen to the radio (for music). Not a big "pop" music fan. Commercials annoy me, but the Bud Light "Mr. yada yada" ones rule. I'm constantly changing stations cuz i want to listen to what I want to listen to, not what's "hot right now". I usually end up somewhere on the way left part of the dial.

Movies:

Love 'em - Special features on DVD's ROCK! Totally into the "how'd they do that" part of things. (not just movies) Here's a few:
Shawshank Redemption, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Star Wars (all of 'em), Indianna Jones, Hunt for Red October, Shaun of the Dead, Airplane, Hot Shots', Naked Guns', Harry Potter, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Bruce Lee, Nightmare Before Christmas, the Jungle Book (the old Disney animated one). John Cusack, Jack Black, Gary Oldman. Documentaries on various subjects
- blah blah blah

Television:

Can't stand "reality TV", yet i find myself watching from time to time, and then get pissed that i just watched something that ridiculous. It's like a really bad accident, you just have to look. Luckily, i'm not usually near a TV during prime time.
Hate; commercials.
Like; History channel, Discovery channel,Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy, Star Trek TNG, Mind of Mencia, C.S.I. (Vegas, cuz it's on when i'm home), the news

Thankfully i've never uttered the phrase, "My show is on"

Books:

Not a reader really, but i'm getting better! I always end up nodding off, even if it's something i'm really interested in. I will say that when i do read, i'm more into non-fiction than fiction, but i'm game for anything.

Heroes:

My parents and family for always being there at the drop of a hat when i need them.
