Biography~Praise GodEric Rico Nance grew up on the Southside of Chicago, which set the stage for one of the greatest creative minds of our time. After retrieving his Cinematic Arts degree from Central Michigan University, Rico took his form of entertainment from the football field to the world of mass media. While in college he worked closely with Kanye West, developing a few artist and starting his label UnCrowned City Entertainment. It wasn’t long before two of his artist landed a deal at Cash Money/Universal Records. It was that experience that took him on a crash course of how the music industry was ran. It was also there that he had the chance to sharpen his production skills, working on over ten videos and creating several treatments during his two-year stint at Cash Money Records. During this time, Rico was also refining his script writing. After writing the Baller Blocking sequel, optioning a script to Syndicate/Fox Films, and selling a script to 30-year producer, Cathy Irby Durant, Rico took his newly crafted skills and started several companies that included Focal Point Films which producers over twenty projects a year, Dynasty Productions, which has sold beats to the likes of Baby, Ludacris, and Norega, UnCrowned City Entertainment, which has partnered with long time producer great No.I.D., signed six artist, and did a deal with Virgin Records for their first artist Mikkey Halsted, which is scheduled to debut Spring 2007. While in the midst of finalizing the deal with Virgin Records, Rico expanded his business to Los Angeles and started sowing his creative oats with such companies as Mtv, TvOne, and E!, all while being winning a Stellar Award for directing the hit Gospel video, Work It Out. With the success of Work It Out, he became the lead producer, director and writer for the Hit Play, Work It Out, starring Malik Yoba, which mounted in Chicago, July 2006 and has plans to tour nationally January 2007.
