On 01 March 2006 Luke Slater , who retains his current position as number one in the world of techno, launched Mote Evolver , a new independent record label. The concept of Mote-Evolver draws parallels with the freedom of the Internet and the ability of this medium to make music available directly to the consumer. However, it takes this concept one stage further and allows access to raw, cutting edge tracks direct from Slater himself.
An underground project in line with this DJs infamous appeal on the techno scene, Mote-Evolver can be seen as a natural progression, or evolvement from Slaters live work, hence the name. An industry first, all downloadable tracks will offer a true insight into the artists mind and come without the need for bloated post production. As such the ultimate judge of any music on the Mote-Evolver site is no longer the record company but the consumer .
