BREAKING NEWS ALERT!!! I just accepted an offer to be a Desktop Administrator for a great company. They are having me train out here in Middleton, but eventually I will be based 100% in New Berlin. This is fantastic, as it will give me a little time to save up and look for a place that I will be happy to call home for a year or two until I can afford a condo. Life is finally on a permanent upswing and I could not be happier!
Who am I? I am a 31 year old Conservative (NOT a Republican) from Middleton, Wisconsin (at least for a few more weeks...). If you fall on the opposite side of the aisle, that is fine, and I can totally respect that, so long as you are informed. The one thing I cannot stand is ignorant and weak-minded individuals who pay no attention to politics until a few days or a week before an election and then vote simply because "It's my civic duty". Know what the candidates stand for and vote for the individual whose ideals most closely match yours. Many of my friends and some of my family are Democrats or Liberals, and I love them dearly. Please don't think that just because we disagree politically we can't be friends. All I ask is that you research the issues and follow your own moral compass. I will NOT blindly follow Republicans, and I have voted for Democrats. I always welcome a political discussion or debate.
I am currently single, but always taking applications for the position of "girl I am dating" or even possibly "girlfriend". Of course it would help if I wasn't so shy and introverted in social situations. I'm slowly getting over that though.
I love music. Especially that of Brian Wilson, oldies in general, powerpop in general, and an incredible local band here in Madison that I have come to know over the past few months, Clear Blue Betty. I try to make as many of their shows as possible, so come out and say hi! Their song "Bulletproof" is my profile song and you're probably listening to it now if you have your speakers turned on. You can also see them rock it out live via the YouTube video in my music section. I am not a fan of modern, mainstream, Top 40, flavor-of-the-day music. For me, good music must contain a melody, preferably one with a "hook" that can get stuck in your head for days or weeks at a time. I find that lacking in today's mainstream music scene where the most important thing seems to be whether or not the song has a good beat you can dance to.
I am learning how to play the guitar. See a picture of one very similar to mine on the left there. It's a 2001 Fender Squier strat. Only difference between the one pictured and mine is: mine has a Humbucker pickup in the bridge position. Can't seem to find a picture of my exact model online. I started working my way through the "Learn and Master Guitar with Steve Krenz" DVD course on December 15, 2007. I love it. Progress is slow, but I'm getting there.
Anything else you wanna know about me, feel free to ask!!
