We like nice things. Epicure means a taste for the lavish, indulgence in what is considered fine or luxurious.
Epicure is a mix of five guys throughout the state of California. Coming together with different styles and roots each member brings their own unique sound. We have grown together for four great years and our music has grown with us. After the release of our first album Forgotten Pacific (2003) we started forming some good friends and fans, and now with the release of our second album Til My Wallet Runs Dry (2006) we are looking to be touring and spreading our lifestyle through the nation.
Our drummer's funk inspired roots are evident in many songs, as is our lead guitarist's reggae obsession. Our lead singer relies on a upbringing of rap and hip hop to guide his way, but has been coupled with the influences of The Beatles and Bob Dylan sporadically thrown in to compliment the diversity of sound. Our Rhythm guitarist has his own influences that stretch across the music spectrum, bringing to mind groups like Sublime, and Jack Johnson. Our lead guitarist looks to freaks like John Frusciante, Jimi, SRV and the likes for inspiration. Our bass guitarist, once obsessed with the slap-happy Primus, has found his own niche in the mellow sounds that Epicure exudes.
It is within this eclectic mix of influence that we have found our Epicure, our desire for fine sound. It isn't a sound that is particularly complicated, nor is it a rhythm that can be copied, it is our own Epicure by nature. Wow, you're probably saying, how much acid did this guy do before he wrote this? None to be exact, a natural high(enhanced by a few nameless intoxicants), has inspired me to author a bio of this extraordinary band. Epicure is the result of five guys that are passionate about the music, the outdoors, women and the water.
