To Thine Own Self Be True

About Me

Hello everyone, welcome to my meandering space. I'm living in Portland right now, but I'm thinking of heading south for the winter. I need some hot sun! Do you live somewhere hot? Let me know!
In other news, I recently started a new blog; Sickle Cell Can Kiss My Ass! . I'm sick of the ignorance and lack of education in the US concerning this disease and I want to speak out about my own personal experiences and observations. Check out my blog... Sickle Cell Can Kiss My Ass!

My Interests

I have a wide range of interests. Currently I'm focusing on expanding my writing 'career'. Since getting published in ESSENCE magazine now I actually think I have a shot at this. I'm a huge blogger and have 5 blogs all on blogspot. Check out my new blog, Sickle Cell Can Kiss My Ass! . It's my personal baby.

I'd like to meet:

Portland People!!!! Holla!
Anyone with Sickle Cell Anemia or someone that wants to learn more or share their story. I'm really no-holds-barred on my blog, and would love to rip away the facade that so many people face dealing with this. Visit Sickle Cell Can Kiss My Ass! and leave your comment, question and imprint today. I look forward to conversing with you.

Music:

Music is food to my soul, and anytime I hear a beat, I cannot resist the pulsating rhythms. I love to dance, in public, in private, and have fun whenever I do so. I love music and even sing and hum to myself while I'm at work. I play the recorder quite well, the violin very badly and the piano even worse. But I have fun with all three!

Movies:

..

Television:

Hmmm, I swore off TV a few months ago...but ANTM, Dirt, The Riches, Heroes, House, Prison Break and Project Runway are seriously making me break this vow!I spend most of my time online trying researching for better treatment plans, diet and new research to combat sickle cell. I want to beat this ish man!

Books:

I'm an avid reader. Generally read about 2-3 books a week. However, if I'm not working that much, then I simply must read about 4-5 a week. B&N is my favorite place to shop! My favorite authors are John Grisham, Dan Brown, Sidney Sheldon, Michael Critchton, Robert Ludlum, Julia Quinn, Julie Garwood, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan, Judith McNaught, Karen Moning, Diana Gabaldon and about 15 others...lol
The Keys to Your Heart
You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.
In love, you feel the most alive when your partner is patient and never willing to give up on you.
You'd like your lover to think you are stylish and alluring.
You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.
Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with.
Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.
You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.
In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily. What Are The Keys To Your Heart?

Heroes:

Anyone living, laughing and loving with sickle cell anemia. You make me proud. Rock on!
