Good art is'nt cheap, and cheap art is'nt good

About Me

Hi! so you wanna know about me well here goes...They call me the "KandyStriper" because that's what I do-well not change bed pans and give sponge baths,(sorry) but I am a pinstriper...yup, a lady striper... and have a business I affectionately call "KandyStripes". Between pinstriping motorcycles and cars...and the occasional golf cart, or pool table....You can find me setting up shop at custom car and motorcycle shows selling pinstriped....well....damn near anything. Handbags, tool boxes, flasks, clocks, wall panels, furniture, toilet seats...all sorts of cool stuff! Come out and say Hi sometime! Just dont ask me..."so who does the striping here?"....Really, click that picture in the top lefthand corner or better yet, come say Hello at a show and see for yourself !
Enough promoting my biz-cuz there is more to me than that, although the kustom kulture scene describes me to an extent, as far as my interests in old cars, tattoos, music, art and style. But lord knows there are lots of people that define themselves by "the scene" and I'm not one of them. I dont take it too seriously and wish others would'nt either. There is much more to me than all that 'scene steriotype' nonsense. It's just my job and a hobby.....I'll be the first to tell you that I'll always have a lot to learn especially as an artist, and won't try to "out-cool" vibe anyone. I could care less how scene you are or what scene you are for that matter. I just like real folks who are not counting tattoos, inches on pant cuffs, or band affiliation name drops as character judgments, just a nice girl with a nack for something I love to do...and have gotten pretty darn good at... ..Check out my work (www.kandystripes.com)

My Interests

Here's a little sample of what I do...and what I can do for you! ;)

I'd like to meet:

Well, there's a long list of talented Pinstripers and kustom kulture artists. Anyone who knows whats up and has something to show me or wants to ask me....I'm happy to share too! Anyone who stops by to say Hello at a show. I dunno this is a silly question. I'd like to meet my evil twin I suppose, maybe I'd learn a thing or two. In 3rd grade I had to answer this question and I said Peewee Herman-and he's still on the list.

Music:

here goes a few, in no particular order....Social D, Supersuckers, Tiger Army, Darkest Hour, Flogging Molly (cuz I play my violin along with), Jr. Brown, Johnny Cash, George Jones, The Hellbillys, Blazing Haley, Throw Rag, Natalie Mcnaster, The Chieftains, The Pogues, As I Lay Dying, Hatebreed, Bouncing Souls, Sick of it All, All the Remains, Bombshell Rocks, U.S Bombs, Rancid, Swinging Utters, Dropkick Murphys, Ramones, Misfits, T.S.O.L, Electric Frankenstien, Haste The Day, Joykiller, The Tossers, The Rev, um, um, um...we'll be here all day this is the worlds most ambiguous question...I love anything that's got heart 'n makes you want to laugh, cry, dance, punch stuff, throw the metal fingers, or sing along.

Movies:

I'm terrible with movies, "what's that one with that one broad and that dude from that other movie".... I love to stay in and watch um I'm just bad with the trivia. My most recent favorite that I still remember the name of ...Napoleon Dynamite.

Television:

I dont watch much...sometimes it's to hard to get me to sit still. I love old school cartoons though! I may be known to watch a show or two about the paranormal or catch south park or family guy on occasion

Books:

Yup, I can be a bit of nerdie smarty pants in this department and I love reading, especially about religion. I just started one about the Amish and Vampires (two separeate books although thats not a bad combination haha). Of course I like the one's with pictures and I collect coffee table books about all sorts 'o stuff, priamrily art related. I also collect children's books, from my pre-school teaching days(see, smarty-pants here), -some fav's, The Polar Express, Ship of Dreams, The Stinky Cheese Man. I love kids! What I just read.. "Small Business for Dummies", being your own boss is harder than it seems. I'm not very good at it...but I try!
