Three chemists, 4 patents, 6 college degrees, and a pastry chef. The REDOX mixture started when craig s. and Kurt Langworthy experienced a chance meeting during a scientific conference that sparked discussion about music and current projects they had been working on. craig and Kurt played and wrote tunes for the next 8 months changing the band name weekly. Bassist Chris Daugenti was introduced to the duo in late 2004; the newly formed 3-piece settled on the name REDOX which elegantly relates the musical chemistry the group started experiencing to the educational background of the artists. During the recording of a limited press full-length album the three piece realized they needed another guitarist to complete the musical vision. Wisconsin transplant, fellow chemist, and effects wizard Nick Liebrecht was asked to join the group in late 2005. The melding of sounds from the four piece infuses explosive powerpop and 90's alternative with glimmering melodies of 60's psychedelic pop. REDOX has played extensively throughout the Willamette Valley and is a regular guest at one of America’s Top 100 night clubs*.
