"As Above, So Below"...Jayro is a singer/songwriter. Born in Brooklyn NY on Tuesday, July 10, 1984. His passion is rnb/rnb pop/soul music. He's been singin since he was about 7 years old. Jayro attended St. Michael's Elementary School from k-8th where at a very young age he participated in talent shows and contests all around and more than often won first place. This is where he was introduced to the piano and began to learn how to read and play music. He then went on to attend the very known performing school of the arts, Arts High School in Newark, NJ, where he was an outstanding vocal major. Here he went on to developing his musicianship by learning how to play the guitar as well. Jayro was a part of the gospel choir as well for some time. Jayro was also selected among many into the All-State Choir during his high school years. When he was 15 He won first place on the televised tv show on the NJN network known as The NJN Hispanic Youth SHowcase winning the Celia Cruz Scholarship. When getting ready for college he became a finalist for the New Jersey Star ledger scholarship as well.
During his first semester at William Patterson University as a music major Jayro auditioned for the famed tv show known as Showtime at the Apollo. He auditioned at the NJPAC(New Jersey Performing Arts Center). Jayro made the audition accompanying himself on piano performing Alicia Keys' Fallin' and got his opportunity to perform on Showtime at the apollo while they were on tour at the NJPAC.
Jayro won the $1000 dollar first place prize along with other prizes on the show and also won his opportunity to actually sing on "Amateur Night at the Apollo", where all the stars have performed in Harlem New York City.
With his humbling faith and confidence, Jayro crooned his version of Maxwells' This Woman's Work, beneath the skin and into the hearts of the tough crowd at the apollo, winning their approval, love and support.
Jayro won his way into the finals by winning first place, four consecutive times.
On the final show, Jayro again, in a very smooth fashion, sang his heart out, winning the grand prize of $25,000 dollars and many other prizes.
Jayro was offered a management contract with Suzanne DePasse entertainment afterwards, where he went to Los Angeles and got the opportunity to meet famed artists and songwriters such as Desmond Child, Soluna, Bob Ellis, etc. Jayro worked with Bob Ellis and Suzanne Depasse for a some time before returning to NY/NJ.
Jayro once again, and alomst blindfoldingly auditioned for the tv reality show Objetivo Fama broadcasted over Univision. The show skyrocketed with ratings with Jayro along with other artists performing on the show. Jayro had no idea what he had gotten into but it was another well-taken step in his career. AFter 4 months of bieng on the show, Jayro made it into the finals coming in 3rd place. Again Jayro conquered the hearts of the many viewers and fans in Puerto RIco and across the United States with his vocal skill and charisma.
Jayro got his first deal with Machete and Goldstar music after the show where he released his first album titled "Melodico". Jayro never expected to release his first album in spanish but he embraced the opportunity and shined in the eyes of many. On this album Jayro worked with Luis Enrique, Victor Manuel, Angel "Cucco" Pena, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Cano Estremera, Obie Bermudez, Jose M. Lugo, Reggaeton star Yomo, Rodolfo Barreras, Micheal Stuart, Nicholas Tovar, Yowell Enrique, and a mighty myriad of famed musicians and artists.
Jayro has also worked on hot rnb with Reggaeton top producer Mr. Greenz at Live Music recording studios in Carolina, Puerto Rico where he also worked with Jowell y Randy in the studio as well.
Jayro is currently working on his next album where he has decided to follow his true personal legend in life, RnB. Stay on the lookout for Jayro. For his career is defined and written in the stars.Jayro's words:
