I had a bunch of stuff here. It was insightful, and even funny, but was woefully out of date. Here's the short version of where I'm at:
Winter is about holing up and waiting for the sun to come back. In the meantime, I'm sleeping too much, staying home too much, and drinking too much. That, and reading about indoor gardening. Hydroponics is fascinating. If you want to waste an hour sometime, ask me about the relative advantages of various light sources for different phases of plant growth. And, as always, I'm spending as much time as I can riding on, elbow-deep in, or looking at motorcycles. Beautiful two wheeled conveyances of wonderful.
NB: don't mention to people that you're interested in hydroponics unless you know they won't jump to conclusions; otherwise, they'll assume you're growing marijuana. After making that assumption, they'll either decide you're a bad person, or that you can get them weed (sometimes, both). Then, not only do you have a bad reputation, you also have to find them drugs.
