Ruthless Truth began with self taught lead guitarist Athos Kyriakides and rhythm guitarist Nick Socratous. The duo got to work on writing songs and soon they would welcome singer Andy West into the group. Drummer Patrick Kerley completed the line up in early 2004. After three years the band experienced it's first line up change, as Andy West departed, and bassist John Buckett, who had already built up a musical partnership with Aff, was brought into the band.Ruthless Truth are a straight up rock 'n' roll band who play with honesty and attitude. No gimmicks, no pretences, just classic rock played with passion and pride, it's original music with an old school edge, played by four guys who will give you everything they have to make your night.Hope and Anchor review -
Ruthless Truth are next - and as ever the hard rockin' four piece deliver a brilliant set. There are some great guitar solos courtesy of the Les Paul, and the bands fired up, fast paced sound has just a few slower touches that add contrast, but this is mostly fast, riff led rock. Hints of G 'n' R, Cult etc are evident, with bluesy inflections in some of the rollocking guitar solos. The singer rips out a loud, gutsy tone while putting in plenty of chordwork on his Strat' to keep the sound thick and heavy at all times. A cover of the Damneds "New Rose" is blasted out in fine style and there's certainly a massive feel good factor with this band. If you wanna rock, these guys won't dissapoint.HOPE AND ANCHOR REVIEW- 15/01/08 -It is Ruthless Truth (formerly Legacy) who top tonites bill - and the guys deliver their usual hearty action packed set - and then some. This is good solid heavy rock from start to finish, and the skirl of the Les Paul is never far away - be it a Slash-esque solo, a spine tringling riff or just some good crunchy chordwork. A solid array of influences are in evidence - everything from 'Priest through Cult, Rollins, Danzig, G 'n' R for a start - but some of the newer stuff carries an urgent, contemporary edge with a biting, aggressive feel - the guys are really developing. Just to keep us on our toes a surprise cover of "Crazy Horses" ads fun to the set. And it is a great show, as ever.
