You would probably never guess it but I like to write poetry in my spare time. I've been writing since the 8th grade and I have probably a half a dozen of my pieces published in various books. Hopefully one day, I'll get to put together my own book. I started writing because I like to sing although I'm no Barry White but I'd still like to help others produce music one day down the road. Otherwise in my free time, I like to workout because I'm a little self-conscious of my appearance. I'm not vain or anything but I have to put in work to stay on top of my game. Another thing that most people don't realize about me is that I'm fascinated with religions. I'm a Southern Baptist but I own a Qur' an and a Book of Mormon. If I mispelled the Islamic book of faith wrong, I apologize. I'm still looking for a Torah and Hindu and Buddhist books. I'm studying psychology in school so I believe the best way to understand other people is by understanding their beliefs.
Come just as you are. I'm one of the most acceptant people you'll ever meet. I don't care much for social status and all that jazz, I'm into to real people because real recognizes real. I don't need what they advertise on television as happiness cause that's not where I'm from and that's not what I'm about. I find my happiness in my renewing faith (I'm still getting there), my family, and my true friends. No gadgets and gimmics necessary.%D%A%D%AIf you're asking who'd I'd like to meet dating wise (women only), I'm straight forward with no pretentions. I like a goal oriented lady who is going places. It just breaks my heart to see a woman with no direction. I need a woman who's on top of her stuff because she can't take care of me and ours if she can't fend for herself. There are other things that I look for too but I can't give too much away, it eliminates the intrigue. If you think you can help me find what I'm looking for, I'll take you on but if not, no disrespect taking.
I'm can tolerate just about anything here. I'm an old school man myself. Sometimes it feels like I was born 20 years too soon. Plus music now don't say nothing but the oldies told a story. You can't ever go wrong with the oldies. You know the Temptations, the Isleys, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Smokey Robinson, Patti Labelle-the classics. How do you think you got here! Your parents slipped on a little of the Teddy Pendergrass. Don't act like you didn't know!div style="text-align: center; margin-left: auto; visibility:visible; margin-right: auto; width:450;"
When I get the chance to watch TV I usually have my TV on Sportscenter or the NFL channel. When not being a jock, I watch history documentaries and stuff on animals.
I can't read sit down and read novels unless the relate to me. I have to be able to live that the character I'm reading about. When, I was little though I remember when my mom bought a set of encylopedias. That's what I like to read about; history and culture. Yeah, I was a little bit of a nerd in my younger days but it seems to have paid off now.I'm about finish up the
As far as athletes go, what black male from North Carolina that grew up in the 80's and 90's didn't want to be like Michael Jordan? Jordan was my inspiration all the way down from the bald head to the deuce-trey. I wanted to model my career around guys like him and Walter Payton because they made the guys around them better and brought out the best in their teammates. As far as inspiration goes, I'd say my dad is my greatest inspiration. While nobody's perfect, he's sacrificed more than y'all know and I probably wouldn't have the opportunity that I have if it weren't for him. My most cherished items in life are the two Desert Storm bucket hats that he gave me years ago. One of them Hangs on the wall at my house and the other sits on my desk at the Academy as a constant reminder that sometimes you have to sacrifice for something greater than yourself.
