This is Princess....Isn't she cute?!
.....and well my art are the most important things in my life!!! I love all kinds of mediums for my art, but lately I'm really into mixed media, collage and altered art. A LOT of my art is Asian themed as I'm half Japanese and very proud of my heritage. I spend most of my time on ebay buying things for my art, buying art, selling my art and looking at my friends art. I belong to lots of groups on ebay, and on yahoo that have to do with art. My other 2 favorite passions are reading (mostly historical fiction, Christian fiction, mysteries and well whatever fits my fancy) and well....scrapbooking. Other things I enjoy doing are: crafts, sewing, crocheting and recently I've started knitting. I used to be really involved in dance, but not so much recently, but I still love dancing. I've done ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, lyrical, ballet folklorico (Mexican folk dancing) and my favorite form tap! And well...I'm a basic internet junkie! Oh and I LOVE just about anything 80's!! That means the movies, the music, the TV and well the culture too!! Oh and I love the color purple (the color, not the movie or the book, but those are good too! LOL) Other random things I like....anything Asian themed (especially art), Hello Kitty, cats, things that sparkle or shine, glittery things and well some of my fav foods.....sushi, pizza, ummmmmm chocolate, and strawberries! YUM!
People who have similar interests to mine......that means, art, art, art, oh and art. LOL! But I would also like to meet people who love the 80's movies, music and TV. People who like art....oh I said that already....LOL! People who like to craft and scrapbook. People who like art, make art, LOVE art. People who like to read, especially Christian fiction. OH and anyone who is a great artist! LOL! ;)
Just about anything 80's, but mostly 80's New Wave! I like bands like Spandau Ballet, Depeche Mode, Berlin, Duran Duran, The Thompson Twins, The Plimsouls, Bananarama, Culture Club, Peter Gabriel, Sparks, Total Coelo, The Psychedelic Furs, Modern English, Kajagoogoo, Human League, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, OMD, REM, Inxs, Oingo Boingo, The Cure, Simple Minds, Dream Academy, General Public, The Smiths....just to name a few...LOL! Oh and I also loved Madonna in the 80's and now....and well there's plenty of others, but New Wave was and is my main FAV from the 80's! I do however like other kinds of music, just to name a few others: Sarah McLachlan, Enya, Sleepthief, Frou Frou, Seal, Queen.....see I really do like other kinds of music!
Can you say 80's? Yes...you guessed it, my all time favorite movies are mostly 80's movies or ones related to the 80's in some way, but there are some others that I like as well! So at the top....would have to be a tie with "Better off Dead" and "Say Anything." Yes, I do have a thing for John Cusack! ;)
I also like: "When Harry Met Sally", "The Princess Bride", "16 Candles", "The Breakfast Club", "Pretty in Pink", "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", "Some Kind of Wonderful", "Valley Girl",
"Vacation", "Christmas Vacation", "War Games",
"Footloose", "St. Elmo's Fire", "Dirty Dancing", "Dead Poets Society", "Stand By Me", "Parenthood" and all those are very close to the top of my fav movie list. But you have to add in "The Wedding Singer", "Romey and Michelle's High School Reunion", "13 going on 30", "America's Sweethearts", "Serendipity", "High Fidelity" (yes, I know...more John Cusack...", "50 First Dates", "Rocket Man", "Tommy Boy", "Family Man", "Notting Hill", "Love Actually", "The Notebook", "4 Weddings and a Funeral",
"Sleepless in Seattle", "You've Got Mail", "IQ", "When a Man Loves a Women", "Return to Me", "Legally Blonde", and "School of Rock". Yes, I like the romantic comedy a LOT, and well comedy in general! Oh I have to add in some Keanu Reeves movies too...as he's another one I have the hots for...so all of the Matrix movies, "Sweet November", "A Walk in the Clouds" (I LOVE THIS ONE!!), and "Somethings Gotta Give".
But I also love musicals....so I have to add in classics like: "The Sound of Music", "West Side Story", "The King and I", "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers", "Grease" and then some not so classic, but still GREAT musicals: "Chicago" and "Moulin Rouge". And well the dancer in me can't leave out "Dirty Dancing 2", "Center State", "Flash Dance", "Tap" and "White Nights". (I know, I know, some of those are also 80's movies....LOL!)
And a movie I have to mention due to the fact that our family likes to watch it together for a good laugh, Napoleon Dynamite!! And my favorite scene in the movie is Pedro's skit, performed by Napoleon!! He's really not a bad dancer!!
This is easy......ER, Law and Order, Law and Order SVU, Medium, Crossing Jordan, Forensic Files, Cold Case Files, What Not to Wear, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Will and Grace, Friends, Craft Lab, That's Clever, Miami Ink, American Idol, and one that's only on in reruns now Third Watch. Oh and one that I mostly watch for the one and only Josh Duhamel, Las Vegas!
And another show I have to add now....it's a pretty new show on NBC that I LOVE!!
HEROES!!!!!!
And my favorite on the show is Masi Oka aka Hiro!!
And Thanks to my trusty
I never miss one of my favorite shows!
Oh, I mustn't forget my all time favorite talk shows that I ALWAYS Tivo M-F: Dr. Phil & Oprah!!!
I have to add another show on here that I didn't orginally have on here. I have to thank my wittle bro for hooking me on this one...So You Think You Can Dance?
Well this is really hard for me because I LOVE TO READ!!! Mostly fiction, and most of it Christian fiction.
Two books that I've read and re-read many times because I liked them so much are Little Women and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Both of these books mean a lot to me because I can relate to the main charecters in them so well. Especially when I was a kid and was reading them for the first time.
A couple of other books that I've reread a lot and well that I know I'll like to reread again and again are White Oleander by Janet Finch, Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts and The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger.
I really like reading series books and I like to read what my children are reading so I can stay on top of what goes into their brains. So I've read and really enjoyed the Harry Potter books, The Series of Unfortunate Events and recently I've read the Uglies trilogy by Scott Westerfeld. Which was very thought provoking to read, even for an adult. I also have to add the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in this series section. And last but not least, I love reading the Left Behind series books by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins. I read both the series for adults and the ones they've written for kids.
I guess the better thing to do now is to mention what authors I like to read, because I've read a lot of their books. My first all time fav author would be Karen Kingsbury. I love her books because they are Christian fiction. And her charecters are so realistic. She protrays her Christian charecters as not always be so perfect, which is the way most real Christians are. Two other Christian author's I really enjoy are Terri Blackstock and Lori Wick.
Some secular author's I really enjoy are Sue Grafton, Nicholas Sparks, Mitch Alboom, Anita Diamant, and Sue Monk Kidd.
And then I'll put a few non-fiction books on here. This first one, I just recently finshed reading is Dispatches from the Edge : A Memoir of War, Disasters, and Survival by Anderson Cooper of CNN. I don't usually like to read non-fiction, but this was very good, and made me think a LOT. And the next two are both by Frank McCourt. These are Angela's Ashes and Tis. I love these two because they make me think of my Dad, who was half Irish and used to say so many of the things Frank McCourt's mother says, in both of these books. Like...."Ah....your bladder is to close to your eyes."
Jesus Christ!!! My hubby, my little bro (because he's doing such a great job being a new Dad and taking care of our CRAZY mother), and my late GREAT Daddy! I love and miss you Daddy!
So I've found a man that I'd like to add to my page because I think we should have more people in the world like him! If we had more people like him in this world we'd have better role models to be heros for the children of todays world!! I first heard of and learned of Juan Mann on Oprah, but come to find out he's spread his message of FREE HUGS around the world!! I'm really hoping to spread this message myself sometime soon!!!
adopt your own virtual pet!So I adopted this little pet o'mine to replace the REAL turtle I had growing up named Laura. I had her a LONG time, until I gave her to my then boyfriend (now my hubby) to keep for me and well....he killed her. Actually, he put her in the backyard of his house and forgot about her.
