I like a broad variety of things. Music (my one true love), Tennis (starting to get back into it, needing to get back in shape, lol), Photography, Astronomy (the stars, a full moon in the middle of nowhere), Being lazy (if you can call that an interest).
I love traveling and seeing new things. I spent a month last year in March driving 5,000 miles all over the country by myself. It was very serene and refreshing. I just got back from spending 4 months living on an island in Belize. Now that was the coolest thing I've ever done and can't wait to go back. I met some great people and pretty much got to live in a postcard, lol.
I also love flowers. I know, weird for a guy to say that but so the fuck what? Favorite is the Mexican Bird of Paradise.
I love to learn, to watch people and just observe in general.
I'm also a big computer nerd. I love playing computer games, online and solo. I like to search things that come to mind and just learn in general.
The cool thing about this section is that I have had a chance to meet some people that changed the world. Carl Sagan, Buzz Aldrin, Gene Rodenberry, Jabba's dancer who got killed by the rancor in Return of the Jedi... Ok, she didn't change the world, but she was really really cool. Have met some famous musicians, and other actors as well, not really sure how, but I guess I just happen to be at the right place at the right time. One thing I like about my job is that I get to meet people every day and talk to them. I know it's not the same as the people I listed above, but I learn something new every day and the stories you hear about people and what they go through can sometimes show you how lucky you really are and that things aren't always as bad as they seem....of course, most of them are lying, lol...but, it's all good.
My favorite song done solo and acoustic....
.. ..
Love Steve Miller and Eagles....pretty much most classic rock.
Classical Piano and Cajun music as well...Nothing beats going to the symphony (my one thing I'd like to do most is to attend a performance of Beethoven's 9th symphony).
Now that I've lived in the Caribbean I'm really hooked on Reggae and Latin music. I've always liked it, but now that's what I'm primarily listening to. Great grooves mon!!
Here's some other favorites off the top of my head...
Grateful Dead, Boston, Allman Brothers, Aerosmith, Joe Walsh, Queen, ZZ Top, John Denver (I know, especially next to ZZ Top huh? lol), Billy Joel, Elton John, Bon Jovi, Bob Dylan, Doobie Brothers, Guns N' Roses, Steve Vai, Loggins and Messina, Kinks ( I love the song Lola...that's cool right?), Lou Reed, Men Without Hats (come on all, do the safety dance :P), Marty Robbins, Simon and Garfunkel, The Who, Thin Lizzy (Cowboy Song has been in my head alot latelly) Rod Stewart, ABBA (Yes, ABBA!!! :P), Liberace (mmhmm, I said Liberace, lol)
hmm, more will keep coming up as time goes
Star Wars, all of them, Lord of the Rings, Sci-fi and comedies are what I watch the most.
Isn't The Princess Bride just one of the greatest movies ever made? I really am a hopeless romantic.
So many others to list, as I think of them I'll add them, so this part will always be a work in progress.
Eurotrip, Revenge of the Nerds, Airplane, Serenity, Napoleon Dynamite, Spaceballs, Harry Potter series, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
I don't really watch that much tv, but when I do, I have a few shows that are tivo'd. Namely Stargate SG-1 as I am a sci-fi nut. South Park, not that I've been accused of having a twisted sense of humour....NEVER!!! I also watch Rome on HBO, about, well, you guessed it...Rome, lol. My favorite show right now though is Scrubs, I haven't laughed out loud in a long time over a tv show like I do this one. Here's a lil clip from Scrubs..
I don't read like I used to, but I do like the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Also have read the Hobbit. I Have read all of the Harry Potter books so far, am awaiting the newest book to complete the series.
I really love the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov. I read the first one in high school and still read the books to this day.
I know it sounds weird, but growing up I used to read the encyclopedia set and dictionaries all the time....I know...nerd :P
The Magician by Raymond Feist, and the books that followed.
Jurassic Park, Hunt for Red October, The Nuclear Age, Snoopy and the Red Baron (so what if it's a kid's book lol), The Giving Tree (gift from my brother when I was young, I love that book) I have so many books on dinosaurs, that was my passion growing up. Russian Fairy Tales (very interesting, not like the fairy tales I was told growing up, hehe)
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Watched the movie with a friend of mine, she said she lost brain cells beccause of it, rofl)
My father...I take after him more than I'd admit.
My mother, sister and brother...They've all accomplished so much with their lives...I have a lot of catching up to do.
Musically I'd have to say Steve Miller and the Eagles were what I listened to most when growing up. When I started to learn to play...that's naturally what I learned first. Then came that darned fiddle...hmm, I think I learned the most from Doug Kershaw and Waylon Thibodeaux...As for piano, now that I have no clue, I guess I could say I'm the most amazed at Franz Liszt, music's first superstar.
Carl Sagan, he has always been an inspiration since a kid...having had the chance to meet and talk to him is something I'll never forget. That's all I can think of for now...I'm sure there are people all over the place that affect me in one way or another...could have been someone I met the other day or could meet tomorrow.
