We are A Striking Resemblance out of Saint Louis, Missouri.
A Striking Resemblance began in 2006 when Nik Porgarcic, Chris Marek, and Brady Hodges decided to form a metal band that gave a refreshing, original take on the genre. The guys began writing music influenced by bands like Darkest Hour and The Bled but were in need of a drummer. They cycled through various drummers and bassists and eventually found Jon McLaughlin. Jon joined ASR and the band soon began shaping together songs that they would soon begin to record. However, midway through recording vocals, Brady decided to leave the band for personal reasons so the band was in need of a vocalist.
This is where ASR found Zack Kelemen. Zack recorded over one of the band's songs and it was clear then and there that Zack was perfect for the spot. His charismatic mix of deep gutteral screams and melodic vocals were a definite melodic boost to the band. Shortly after, the band realized they needed a bassist to complete the lineup. The band tried out Mike Uhle who brought a wide variety of influences to the table, which soon was heard through the band. ASR finished recording and began playing shows all around Missouri to get their message out. However, in June of 2007, something did not seem right. Things with Jon were not working out and the band found themselves in need of a new drummer. The band soon tried out a phenomenal drummer named Justin Bess and the band finally felt complete.
Over the next few months, ASR wrote and recorded several new songs. The band finally was moving at a steady pace with nothing to stop them. Out of the blue, Tim Trojahn (formerly of Harlot) comes along whose vocals had to to be added to the band. ASR now had two vocalists finally sealing the deal. Currently, ASR is writing and recording several more new songs fresh out of finishing a music video for their song "Redivider" and planning a tour to follow soon after. With a captivating live show and a seemingly endless desire to work for what they want, there is a lot more to come for this band.Just ask the people that have seen us
