About Me
Beaumont, Texas seems to be the middle-class, shift working, oil-refining capital of the world. With all the chemical plants injecting as much waste into the atmosphere as possible, you'd think that people wouldn't be surprised that along with all the acid rain, mutated animals, and diseases a new breed of metal has evolved. The members of Stale Mind are surprising more and more people with every live performance. With (former) front man Adam Myers's poetic lyrics and strong vocals, the band displays its originality and sets themselves apart from mainstream metal. But without the support of guitarists PJ Disharoon and Wade Stone, bassist Kaston Seymour, and (former) drummer Chance Sweat, the vocals could only carry you so far. However as a group, they produce the perfect combination of beauty and intensity. With sounds reminiscent of the quite-loud bipolarity of the Deftones, the hardcore urgency of Poison The Well, and the full on soul-baring, emotional assault of Glassjaw, Stale Mind has not only found, but also perfected their place in the vast world of hard core-metal. The band formed in 1999 and could be found locked away in damp, smokey rehearsal spaces. Stale Mind grew quickly by gigging, and recording demos to be included on regional, national, and international compilation CD's (over 4000 to be exact).Stale Mind also booked and toured independently. The members are growing (22-26), have incredible energy, and catchy songs that are destined to captivate fans on a national level. They have opened for national acts such as Default, Chimaira, Soilwork, Bleeding Through, As I Lay Dying, Seether, 40 BelowSummer, Sevendust, Skrape, The Union Underground, Cky, ill Nino, Spine Shank, Switched, 36 Crazyfists and Blindside. In early 2002, while unsigned to a label, due to Stale Minds growing popularity they independently recorded and released their debut album "Rust", which has sold over five thousand copies. In 2003 Set X Records picked up Stale Mind. In The Fall of 2003 Stale Mind released their second Album "Backseat Beautiful". Stalemind then dropped from the label as they are currently looking into another as of right now. In early January 2006, Stalemind added drummer Andrew Carter, (formally My Smile is A Rifle) and vocalists Brandon Parker in early April, originally of Shuteye as former drummer Chance Sweat and Adam Myers have gone on to other projects and intrests. We wish them both the best of luck.found this plain layout at HOT FreeLayouts.com
