Chavonda Doucett, alnown as Vooky, was born on March 29,1986 in the small city of Lake Charles, La. She always had an ear for music under the influence of artists such as Jodeci and Mary J. Blige. She began to take notice of her musical interests at age 11. Bone thugs in harmony,Cash money records, and No limit records are part responsible for that notification of interests. She started writing music as age 12 where she was starting to discover herself musically. At age 15, with the hopes of being in ad, Vooky received her first instrument, a bass guitar. Unfortunately the band didn't work out which made Vooky's thirst for music even stronger. She received her first drum machine, the Boss dr5 (which she loved dearly) at age 16. With that drum machine, Vooky began to study inspirations such as Mannie Fresh, The Neptunes, Kanye West, and Timbaland. By age 18 Vooky was graduating high school with no plans on attending college to pursue her dreams. Instead, Vooky became involved withroduction company entitled Phatt Traxx Productions. This is where Vooky expanded her learning in the music biz. She learned how to run recording sessions, use the latest music equipment, and she learned engineering. She also learned many life lessons working for Phatt Traxx. After working for a year at Phatt Traxx, Vooky moved to Atlanta, Georgia to further her music career. Atlanta is where she began to get more business and also more respect in the music industry. She also startedget more involved with poeple in the music business. Vooky began attending American InterContinental University studying Media Production with a concentration in Audio. At 19 years old, Vooky has just finished her debut album titled Business vs. Bullshit where her southern personality shines through. Her debut album was performed, engineered, and produced by Vooky. Business vs. Bullshit contains the hits "Business vs. Bullshit", "Better Dayz", and "Spaced Out". Vooky keeps it real ir first album by giving her insight on life as a hustler and the highs and lows of an up and comer trying to make it in the music industry. She also describes her passionate love for music and how it keeps her going even through her toughest times. Vooky is currently in the process of preparing productions for other new artists and aslo some projects of her own such as opening up her own studio and or production company. Vooky is the real deal and nothing will separate her from her of music.
