Brad and Christy Beasley have quite a story about how they became Finish Line. It all started in 1997. Christy was in the youth group at Chicopee Baptist church in Gainesville, GA. It was becoming a large youth group very fast and was in need of worship music. Christy had been singing to tracks in church since she was a little girl, but without an instrument and the ability to play one, she was in no place to be able to lead worship for a group. She quickly became interested in learning to play the guitar, realizing that singing to tracks was just not gonna get it much longer. Well, not only did she have the greatest youth pastor in the world, Johnny Mattox, but God used him to supply her with a guitar to learn on. It was like gold to her, an old Washburn guitar that soon became a very important part of her life. In the meantime, Brad was a member at a local church down the road called Poplar Springs Baptist. Both church youth groups did things together quite often and Johnny Mattox heard Brad lead worship at a youth function. Well, to shorten a long story, Johnny talked to Brad and next thing you know, Brad had come to Chicopee to lead worship for the youth group. Christy and Brad met of course - Brad showed her some stuff on the guitar, and just like that, they had formed a praise team, leading worship weekly for the youth. Christy graduated highschool in 1998 and she and Brad found themselves branching out and playing at many more churches and youth events. Somehow in the midst of it all, God saw a team forming, not just in worship, but in marriage. In July of 2000, Brad and Christy were married. God had put them together for a sole purpose, to bring glory to His name and exalt Him before people all over the US. They recorded their first full length album in 2002 and followed it up by a second acoustic album in 2004. In 04 they spent 12 weeks during the summer at Camp Eagle in Rocksprings, TX leading worship for a youth camp. After returning home for a month or so, they found themselves on a 4 week long Fall Tour from GA to TN, AR, MO, OK, TX, NM, and LO. It was an awesome experience for them to see what God can do through 2 willing people, making themselves available to Him. "We weren't the type of people that we would think someone would be excited about coming to see - We are just normal people - But God showed us that if He is going to trust in us to put us out there, we have got to put some confidence in ourselves and our trust in Him, then He always works out the details." In 05 they spent a few more weeks on the road playing in Florida and Arkansas at summer camps. They will never forget the experiences they have already been a part of, and can't wait to see what God does next. They are currently working on their third album and just listening to God for where He would have them next. "It's all about sticking it out and realizing that it is not always easy. Actually, it hardly ever is. But the way I see it.... the devil hates our guts and he wants nothing more than for us to throw in the towell when it gets hard, and I'm not gonna give him that kinda glory. I'm stickin' it out for the King!"Layout made by t.v._casualty
