I'd like to meet all of you. I believe if everyone on my friends list were at the same party, it would be the best damn party ever. At first, I was thinking of inviting spammers so we'd have somebody to throw in the pool or spray with a fire extinguisher, but the more I thought about it, I decided that we'd have just as much fun without 'em. If you're a spammer that reads this....don't even bother requesting an add. Everyone that's here is here for a reason, so let's crack 'em open, knock 'em back, and let the good times roll!!
There's no one style I like or listen to all the time, if it's good, then it's good, regardless of what 'category' people put it in. I listen to everything right across the board.
The Tarantino flicks like "Pulp Fiction", "Jackie Brown", "Resovoir Dogs". They're proof that a powerful dialogue can carry a movie. If there's a storyline that's captivating and pulled together real tight, I'll watch it. Twice sometimes. One of my favorites is "Crash". It's one big culture clash that holds a mirror up to people and tells us more about ourselves than the movie. Brilliant!Sometimes I remember scenes and characters more than the movies they were in, like the coffeeshop scene in "Heat" with Pacino and DeNiro....acting just doesn't get any better than that. Or Val Kilmers 'Doc Holliday' character in "Tombstone"...that's the definition of drop-dead cool.As far as romance movies?? "..About Last Night" or "Tequila Sunrise" work for me. Both good stories. Plus, I have too much damn testosterone to sit through something like "Beaches".
I don't watch alot of T.V., but there is not one episode of 'Scrubs' where I haven't laughed my ass off.'American Idol' I watch religiously, because I know the world will never find another Kelly Clarkson, but it's fun to watch them try.'My Name Is Earl' I watch because something about Jaime Pressley just curls my toes. (it's the feistiness, I think).
Anyone who has the power to disregard what other people think and just be themselves. People who blaze their own trail and crush stereotypes are my heroes.
