I like to whittle.
I'd like to meet:
READ LIKE AN OSCAR ACCEPTANCE SPEECH (Add in applause at ** and everywhere else you see fit):
**Ahh, there are so many people I would like to meet... Uhh, first I would like to meet my wife, where are you honey, I can't see you? ... Oh, I know that you are out there somewhere. You are the greatest!**... Okay, and also, I would like to meet a lot of the famous people that work in the movies.... There's Owen Wilson, Luke Wilson, Vince Vaugn, Will Ferrell, and all those guys... There's Tom Hanks and Tom Selleck and Tom Cruise and wait, no not Tom Cruise********, sorry, I am just so excited... Uhh, let's see, I don't have a list, I should have a list, but I thought it would be too pretentious to carry around a list.... Uhh, the president, I guess I should say the president, everyone says the president, huh? (awkward silence from the crowd)... or not**... oh, alright...uhh...
Writers, lots and lots of writers: John Grisham, Michael Connelly, Stephen King, Dave Barry, Nick Hornsby, Robin Cook, Aaron Sorkin, David Sedaris, uhhh, there's lots more... uhhh, too many to name...
JJ Abrams and Damon Lindelof... what the heck is going on on that island?*** Ohh, and Kate, yeah, definitely Kate, and Walt, just to say that I did. Ohh, man, I know they are going to cut me off soon...
Before they do, let me make sure I say David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, Jay Leno, but especially Conan O'Brein...***
There's lots of bands, I gotta mention the bands and all the singers... ohh, there's too many, Kelly Clarkson for sure -she's a cutie- and Elvis, if he is alive, not if he is dead, that would be weird... uhh, maybe John Mayer, some of the country guys, Brad Paisley and Randy Travis to go old school... and oh, there playing the music now... who is that playing? The Rolling Stones... yeah, not them...**
And Oprah. Someone needs to punch her in the face for creating Dr. Phil and that person may as well be me...***********
THANK YOU!*** GOOD NIGHT!!**** THANK YOU!!!...******
...
Music:
Barbara Streisand and Kenny G. It's a tie, I can't decide....
Movies:
Alright, I like movies, lots and lots of movies, but instead of just BAMMM!!! throwing out 112 movies, I thought I would add a new one each day so that you could check and see if you agree or disagree with the day's selection. Okay, these are in no particular order, they are equal, all except Super Troopers, which holds a special place in my heart and could never be expected to be on a list with lots and lots of other movies like...
A Knight's Tale (one of my favorites of all time and definitely my favorite non-gay cowboy Heath Ledger movie)
A Few of My Favorite Foreign Films: Bossa Nova (Brazil), Life is Beautiful (Italy), l'auberge espagnole (France), The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course (Australia), A Christmas Story (Canada)
A Few of My Favorite Documentaries: Super Size Me (my favorite), My Date With Drew, Farhenheit 9/11, Word Play, Who Killed the Electric Car?, An Inconvenient Truth, Tom Dowd, America's Funniest Home Videos (yes, it counts. it's like a bunch of small funny documentaries)
My New Favorite Chick Flick: Must Love Dogs (made me laugh, made me cry, made me believe in love again, made my mom think she was right about me...)
My Favorite Dolly Parton Movies: Nine to Five, Straight Talk, Rhinestone, and Steel Magnolias...
My Favorite Movies I Have Seen At A Theater Lately: Casino Royale, The Prestige
Television:
TV. I LOVE TV. A lot. Probably too much. I watch about 16 hours a day, which if I remember correctly from an article i read recently, is well within the normal range.
I will break them up by category and I will add new categories ever so often with favorites in that category...
Old School (like TVLandish, not Nick-at-Nite, uhh, ish): MacGyver, Magnum, P.I., Walker, Texas Ranger, Hunter, and Full House...
Old School (like Nick-at-Nite, but pre-Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Roseanne): Dick Van Dyke, The Bob Newhart Show, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Mr. Ed, The Beverly Hillbillies, and Full House...
CSI:'s: CSI: (the original), CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, CSI: whatever city they come up with next
Favorite Britcoms (post 2000ish): The Office, Kumars at No. 42, Peep Show, Coupling, My Hero, My Family, Black Books
My Favorite Fake News Shows: The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, The Best Week Ever, Weekend Update (while this is not a show unto itself -it is a segment on Saturday Night Live- it could totally be a show unto itself and it is the number one reason I watch SNL, that and Andy Samburg.)
My Favorite Shows Set in a Hospital: Grey's Anatomy, er, Scrubs, House, Diagnosis Muder, Viva la Bam (while this is not technically set in a hospital, they always seem to end up there -or i always hope that they do- and there is something intensely gratify about seeing people like that hurt themselves)
Favorite Comedies: The Office, 30 Rock, Scrubs, The Class, How I Met Your Mother, Family Guy, American Dad
My Favorite Shows That Everybody and Their Mama Watch: American Idol, Survivor, CSI:, LOST, Grey's Anatomy, 7th Heaven (what? everyone doesn't watch 7th Heaven?), 24, and Full House
My Favorite Game Shows: Jeopardy!(the GREATEST gameshow in the history of life), Wheel of Fortune(since 1984 the price of gas has increased 16,000% but vowels are still $250), Millionaire(I wanna be one), The Price is Right(one word: PLINKO!), SuperMarket Sweep(used to watch it with my grandma and grandpa as we ate lunch), Card Sharks(higher, no lower, no, wait, higher...), Press Your Luck(big money, big money, no WHAMMY... and STOP!), ahh, this list could go on forever...
