WRESTLEMANIA MATCHES
WRESTLEMANIA I
In what was a long feud with the late Big John Studd that began in 1983, the two stepped into the ring in a $15,000 bodyslam challenge. This match made Andre look like Andre, and it still kept Studd looking strong. Andre wins the match with a slam, grabs the money and begins tossing it to the fans. Bobby 'the Brain' Heenan steals the bag and the money and runs in the back
WRESTLEMANIA II
In a battle royal equipped with some of the top NFL football players at the time, it was meant to give Andre a rub without having him wrestle. Who was he going to face anyway? Big John Studd? Already did that. King Kong Bundy was in the main event. Ken Patera? In jail.
WRESTLEMANIA III
In the biggest main event advertised, the good Andre resorted to evil ways, teaming with former nemesis, Bobby Heenan. In an awesome build up to the big show (not Paul Wight), it made Andre look like he actually might win. As for the match itself, it was so-so. Andre was slammed and pinned to the delight of the 93,000 or so fans.
WRESTLEMANIA IV
Feb 5th, Andre finally gets the WWF title, only to give it to Ted DiBiase. DiBiasse is stripped of the title. Fast forward. Tournament is held to determine new champ. Andre gets a bye into the second round, only to face Hulk Hogan. Both are disqualified for using a chair, so both get booted out.
WRESTLEMANIA V
Andre is relegated to facing Jake Roberts. Andre's "fear" of snakes is showcased here. A returning John Studd (now a good guy) is special referee. In an obvious outcome, Andre is disqualified and the Andre/Stuff feud is supposed to begin.
WRESTLEMANIA VI
Andre walks into the arena 1/2 of the tag champs. His partner, Haku. Their opponents, Demolition. The outcome, Demolition basically keeps Andre out of the ring, and wins the titles back. Bobby Heenan blames the loss on Andre and Andre exits the Arena as a fan favorite.
