About Me

My Space or Yours? Myspace Layouts and more at myspaceoryours.net!
Wow..... trying to fill out one of these when your personality is such a dichotomy is crazy! But alas, I'll try.....
I am generally a very upbeat sort of person ... definitely a glass half full kinda guy. I love hanging with friends and chatting and watching television and listening to music and cooking and eating and ... whew! Obviously, I'm not too hard to please.
I have a great dog, her name is Maggie. She was a stray that I adopted from my vet and she never ceases to amaze me. What a great gift from God that dogs are ... such a good example of unconditional love.
I was raised in the Midwest (Munroe Falls, Ohio ... yay!!!) and had a wonderful upbringing. I have great parents who are still married after 47 years. I guess you could say I was a well adjusted child in a more than normal home situation.
For my profession, I'm an entertainment producer. I am one of the owners of Phoenix Rising Entertainment, Inc. and our company produces and packages musical revue shows for cruise ships, resorts, theme parks, convention entertainment and the general like. If you're a singer/dancer and you're reading this, click on the link and check us out ... we're always looking for new talent!
For those of you who know me really well, I also still like to sing and perform. AND ... I'm totally and undeniably addicted to my iPOD! I got this groovy new gadget that allowed me to download my CD entitled "UNFORGETTABLE" that I made a few years ago. It's some of my favorite old standards and such. You just click on the play button like a real iPod and you can hear the songs on my CD! Check out this MySpace MP3 Player !
I also like to travel a lot! I've been to 46 of 50 states and about 20 countries so far. You can check out my travels on this nifty map.....
I hope that I can connect with a lot of people that I might have something in common with and/or old friends that I may have lost touch with somewhere along the way..... ..

My Interests

Music, good movies, interesting books, gardening, herbs, cooking, the internet, my iPod (wow ... what a great gadget!), traveling to places I've never been..... or travel in general! I've been to over 20 countries on 4 continents and have been truly blessed to travel a lot because of my career. I really enjoy Japan (been there 11 times and have been VERY immersed in the culture) but also love Italy and the midlands of England. I'm a very adventurous eater and love to try the local cuisine no matter where I am (or what it looks like!) and always try my best to learn at least a bit of the language to whatever country I'm traveling so I don't appear to be the "Typical American" that expects everyone around the globe to speak English.

I'd like to meet:

Jesus, St. Francis, Albert Einstein, Princess Diana, Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, JK Rowling, my maternal Grandmother, Dolly Parton, and a veritable plethora of others.....

Music:

My interest in music is so ecclectic, I can't possibly list it here. I love everything from classical to pop, country, jazz, easy listening, 80's rock, top 40, dance and techno tunes, and way more. However, you might catch me listening to a lot of Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Carrie Underwood and Michael Bublé on my iPod!

Movies:

All time favorites are Tombstone (Kurt Russell, Val Kilmer, Sam Elliott, Bill Paxton) and Somewhere In Time (Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve). My DVD collection is growing however and I truly enjoy almost anything with Meryl Streep and Johnny depp.

Television:

You name it! (My friends and family call me a television addict!) I really like the "original" reality shows like American Idol, The Amazing Race, Survivor, Big Brother, The Apprentice, Dancing With The Stars, So You Think You Can Dance.... but I also like a lot of sitcoms. In fact, my DVR is my new best friend because I can watch and record simultaneous networks! Totally into "Heroes" this season and I can't wait for Volume 2 next Fall! I'm really into "LOST", "Ugly Betty", "Grey's Anatomy", "Ghost Whisperer", "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition", "Desperate Housewives" and fallen in love with "Brothers & Sisters". When I'm NOT watching primetime, I like other networks like HGTV, DIY and the Food Network.

Books:

I really don't have much time to read with my work schedule. And I also have an OCD issue with novels. I feel the need to keep reading until they're done, foregoing sleep and other obligations in my life ... so I try to keep it to short novels or information books where I've learned to read a chapter or section at a time.

Heroes:

My parents are my true heroes ... they are the best example of "good people" I know. No matter what has been dished at them in life, they truly stay on top of the situation and have always been a good example to me of hard work, honesty and communication. I love them with all my heart!
