Joe Rapid's journey started in a pre teen, classical setting in suburban London. Every weekend was spent down in central London flicking through tunes at Unity Records, or Black Market. He got his first belt driven Decks at 15, a first taste of being part of a movement he wanted to make his career.
At 16 Joe moved to the country where he had time to learn how to mix. He stayed there for only a year supplying his vinyl addiction through Red Eye records and playing the only pirate radio station, Vibes FM, and DJ sets in the local towns.
After a year toil in Suffolk Joe returned to London where he played a few stations such as Eruption, but then hit the illegal party scene along with radio station Ruud Awakening, where he had a Sunday prime time slot. Club work came as a result, at venues like the Minstry of Sound, Scala, Bagley's, Labyrinth, SE1, Electroworks and many more.
Most recently Joe Rapid has been working for leading music software distributor Arbiter MT. Here he does technical support and artist relations for brands like Steinberg and Native instruments. Skills acquired in this job have
had him locking himself in the studio writing and producing his own music as much as possible.
In June 2006 collaborations with breaks entrepreneur Dj Swifty B, lead to Joe Rapid's debut release 'Israel' on the Vinyl Touch Recordings imprint, along with 'Off the Cuff' which was a collaboration with Joe Rapid and Nu Phaze. www.myspace.com/thevinyltouch
Joe Rapid's musical ethos is to stay true to him self and not just follow the crowd, he is at the stage now where everything starts to come together. His hard work and dedication is starting to pay off. This is only just the beginning.
