About Me

Welcome!!! We are Mike and Maureen's Merrymakers, a Relay for Life team from Delaware County, PA. Our team captain 19is Karen Rivers, and Kate Shaw is our co-captain. This is our 3rd year as part of Relay for Life of the Main Line. We formed our team in loving memory of Mike Shaw and Maureen Rivers. Mike Shaw is the father of Kate, Mike, and Matt Shaw and the loving husband of Joanne Shaw. He was very active in his church and community in Springfield, PA. Mike lost his battle with cancer in 1992. Maureen Rivers is the mother of Shane Rivers and the mother-in-law of Karen Rivers. She was a music teacher at St. Mark's Middle School and was active in her church and local music groups in Pittsfield, MA. Maureen lost her battle with cancer in 2003. We decided to form Mike and Maureen's Merrymakers to honor the memories of these two wonderful people. Relay for Life is a 24 hour event that raises much needed money for the American Cancer Society. It is being held at Valley Forge Military College on May 18th-19th, 2007. We have started this page in order to keep our team members informed and recruit new team members. My Interests

Fighting cancer, finding a cure, fundraising, team building, having fun, walking, helping others, meeting new people

I'd like to meet:

Everyone who cares about fighting against cancer!! We are always looking for new team members, those willing to donate, and those who are willing to cheer us on!!!And in case you needed a better reason than feeling good and doing something great: Donate to our team and get a ribbon pin and added to our Top 8 (this will of course rotate). Join our team and get a free t-shirt, free food provided by Karen the day of the event, and your school added to our myspace page so that all your classmates can see that you are super cool.
