I'm of German and Irish decent for that i'm proud you see my father was nomad i hadn't seen him for a while till last year. Lost a brother but still have a mother I aint motherless. I know for some of you that may be hard to believe. You see I've been up I've down I've smile and I've frowned I've made every gesture that a young man can steal and i know I'm married to the road. Some people are locked down some are free but i know I'm married to the road. Well I've been rich I've been pour I've spent it all on whores I've been in love with the girl thats next door. Stolen slow cars dated prom queens been around the country slept with underage women turned disk for a thrill. Tried suicide but didn't die but I'm here to tell. I don't know believe in heaven but I still don't know believe in hell. I've been Shot at, stabbed, been beaten up real bad. I've survived a lot of things with out being killed. Slepted in fancy hotels eaten from a garbage can well down every highway I grown into a man. Seen a man die right before my eyes. Never aborted a baby and shed all my tears. Been strung out on pills slammed my share of dope. I've drank all your booze man and snorted your coke. I've been loved I've been hated to me it's all the same any more. EMBRACED by a lover or your cursing my name. But I know I'm married to the road and I know I'm married to the road some people are locked down and some are free and I know I'm MARRIED to the road but Im Free............. I'm FREE
