Debut Solo Performance!! See You There? Weaveworld at The Studio
Friday 30th November 2007
For one night only, The Studio proudly presents the return of the mid-nineties indie-dance club Weaveworld, featuring for the first time in thirteen years a one-off reunion appearance from Hartlepool indie/techno rockers Procession alongside their more recent emotive offshoot Demon Summer. In keeping with Weaveworld’s roots, the night will also feature funky electronic dance from other founder members of the band including NEEB, BOX and Pixelate in addition to colourful projections and live UV artworks.

“Procession sound like Spiritualized and produce a lurching spiked sound which shudders then explodes into a wonderful dub groove rhythm.” Mike Potter, Evening Gazette.

“Demon Summer play anthems. The unbound energy provided by front man Paul, set against a backdrop of moody guitarists, billowing smoke and slideshows, gives this band that something special. An absolute stellar performance.” Stephanie Young, BBC Tees Review.

“NEEB have hip swinging beats and acidic electronica" (MUSIK magazine)

“Procession serve up huge monoliths of shimmering guitar…suggesting a brooding and muscular Killing Joke.” Ian Monaghan, Hartlepool Mail.

“The rich imploring vocals burn deep into Procession’s soundscape like acid through concrete jungle…Superb!” Rob Nichols, One Giant Leap.

Band Members: pixelate is a solo project which mainly focuses upon electronic music. I have been in several bands in the past (Procession, Manitou, NEEB, Mercedes) and I am currently in the bands Box and Demon Summer.
Influences: Orbital, Daft Punk, Kraftwerk, Death in Vegas, Lamb, Chemical Brothers, Nine Inch Nails, Front 242, Jean Michel Jarre, Autechre, LFO, Blur, gorrilaz.
Sounds Like: I would like to think pixelate sounded like Orbital, Daft Punk, Kraftwerk, Death in Vegas, Lamb, Chemical Brothers, Nine Inch Nails, Front 242, Jean Michel Jarre, Autechre, LFO, mainly leftfield ecclectic electronic music really.
Type of Label: None

thought i'd express my joy at playing my first solo gig... now i know this was in my humble home town, but my modest 20 minute set got quite a lot of praise... so... think i'll double the set and try ...
