I am here for Friends

About Me

I feel so lucky to have had such a rich and fun life so far, and look forward to all that is to come! I married my best friend and am constantly amazed by how perfectly suited for each other we are. We love to travel, to hike or do anything outdoors, or sit on the couch and read a good book or watch a quality movie. Well, this was our life before our first son was born. All things have been put on hold while we adjust to our new member of the family. Our life is definitely different, but in all ways better. We love this little guy!

Humility is good

What's more embarrassing than fainting in Walmart? Reliving it in the second row during a church service. My only thoughts as I was going down (thankfully, just slumping over onto my husband's shoulde...

Poochin'

I think I am beginning to get out of the stage of pregnancy that my friends like to call the "is she, isn't she?" stage, and into the "the belly is always the first topic of conversation" stage. It ha...

Barefoot, pregnant, and where I belong

Although I am very well into trimester #2, it wasn't until a few weeks ago that I started feeling significantly better. There are many things I am now jumping for joy about, but the best thing is that...

Fun times at Walmart

My recent trips to the Walmart (yes, the Walmart as some here in the South actually call it) have turned out to be more than just shopping missions. I have found that even here I can get little snippe...

Integrity

I haven't been able to shake the words of a pastor on TV that I heard on Sunday. Instead of being encouraged by those words, I have been saddened. He was talking in his sermon about how we can pray "b...

Welcome back my dear friend!

I've been waiting anxiously for this day, and it is finally here! No, I really don't care much about Alabama and Auburn (except for the festivities surrounding it). What excites me to no end today is ...

The rumor is true!

"We" are pregnant! Bryan and I have sat on our news for quite a while, waiting until our move to tell our parents as well as friends here in Birmingham. We had to remake that decision every few days t...

I can't believe it

We made it. We really made it. The first half of our journey was wonderful. I was struck by the accomplishment of man at the Hoover Dam (did you know that the cement is so thick that inside much of it...
