Influences: Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Dinosaur Jr., Kyuss, Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, The Cure, Hole, Joy Division, Pixies and others; our sound is a heavy mix of alternative/hard rock, grunge and metal.
Sounds Like:From Manchestermusic.co.uk:"Travelling through hard rock, epic progressive distortions and hypnotically looped phrases...The thing that made the original version of The Forest so good, was the incendiary guitar and the anxious, nailed down drums - both of which combine to create the whirlwind of noise and neat, powerful fanfares of alt.rock riffs and charging chords...The guitar stands out with a unique (by todays standard) sound that bleeds with harmonics and an almost schizoid flickswitch ability that cuts between semi-clean strums and blood thirsty distortions."Too Late To Decide" is the cruising, hypnotic ice breaker that delivers the missing link between the pre-scene sounds of Seattle and the progressive anthems of a spaced out stadium band."Enough" is a lilting, depressed ballad fusing Joy Division with Sonic Youth and ending up with the creation of a new form of gothic rock. There are a few epic, ambitious moments, but the end of the set brings forth their best - Soundgarden / Nirvana / Sabbath are smelted into a wiry, loud form of heavy rock that wraps its melody right round your jugular.Their ambitions and sounds are huge, yet they play with meagre resources - it works spectacularly.
