SEVERLOCK (R.I.P.)

South Georgia STOMP METAL

About Me

Here's the deal: 4 guys from Thomasville, Ga., and 1 guy from Moultrie, Ga., who are based in Thomasville. Anyways, SEVERLOCK was formed in January 2006 by Randy Flinchum (EX-Lead Guitar), Stevie Sexton (Rhythm Guitar), Mike Cochran (Drums), Rob Gilmore (Vocals). They added Mike Alderman (Bass) in April 2006. Randy left the band in August 2006, and they continued on with one guitar. Stevie's brother, Jason Sexton, was added to the band in Jan. 2007 as a 2nd vocalist. SEVERLOCK was created by these musicians out of their love of heavy music, and because they don't care to play what's trendy these days. They play what they want. The band has one simple goal: to make you mosh, headbang, move your ass, throw-down, and tear shit up.The bandname means to say "fuck you" and be defiant to anyone who tries to keep you down, keep you from being who you really are inside. It's a stand to sever the lock they try to put on you, whether it be parents, friends, lovers, bosses, whoever.......Be yourself always....believe in yourself always. Fuck the naysayers. Join us in the friendly mayhem, be a part of our LockCrew.SEVERLOCK has had airplay on Gulf 104's Homegrown Local's Show with their song "Betrayed." It was retired after securing 6 consecutive weeks on the Top 3 at 8:20. The band has opened for these National Acts: GWAR(DRT Entertainment), INDORPHINE(Rock Ridge Music), BLOODSIMPLE(Bullygoat Records), OTEP(Koch Records), and WITHIN CHAOS(Koch Records).

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Jason Sexton - Vocalist, Rob Gilmore - Lead Vocalist Mike Alderman - Bass Stevie Sexton - Guitar Mike Cochran - DrumsThis is what we do for Metalheads. We are SEVERfuckingLOCK!!!!!! Our friend Syrrina got our Lock Logo tattooed on her back!!!! How is THAT for dedication???!!! She rules, as do all our die-hards!
Influences: We are influenced by pain, despair, love, hate, happiness, depression, and anger. This is the real substance of life. We make no bones about it. We don't cater to what's trendy these days. We play what we like to hear. If you like it cool, if you don't, move on. We'll still be here one way or another. Mainly, we're still here because of our dedicated LockCrew. They never let us down. They give us hope when there seems to be none, and for that, we owe them everything. We're doing things from the ground-up: One step at a time. We hope that you'll join our LockCrew and help spread the word about us.
Sounds Like: Your NEW favorite band. Heavy Groove Stomp Metal with sinister, evil, brooding undertones. Pit-friendly music. Music that you'll HAVE to move to. The soundtrack to a slow, methodical beatdown. Screaming / singing, monstrous guitar, thundering bass, and punishing drums! Imagine Acid Bath, Machine Head, Crowbar, and Stuck Mojo in a moshpit kicking each other's asses and that's somewhere in the grey area of what we sound like. Metal with a groove that has a dark undercurrent.
Record Label: We're Not Trendy Enough Records
Type of Label: None
