I found tapes of me at around age 10 singing into the little microphone square of the boom box while using the switch to go back and fourth between the radio and the tape recording. In this manner, I was able to sing on tracks with the likes of Al B. Sure, Bobby Brown, Kieth Sweat, New Edition. What ya'll know about "Crucial lovin', crucial." This was my little secret. Then I got a hold of a little Casio keyboard and figured out ways to get at least 3 tracks playing out of it at the same time. More hilarious tapes followed. Fast forward to high school when I got involved with a singing group. I learned a great formula for writing songs. I learned that I enjoyed being on stage. So, I've been working with a few geniuses to come up with songs and productions that we can live with. I've also been working on my production skills. My influences range from rock to soul, afro-anything (Cuban, Celt, you name it), world music to hip hop. Consequently, my various projects have been compared to the likes of Sting, Seal, Maxwell, Musique Souldchild and Lenny Kravitz to name a few. How do you market that? I'll find out as I am nearing completion of a truly eclectic album that should have something for everybody and a whole lot for those who enjoy everything.Peace and Abundant Blessings,Luq
