Gateway Chapter Mission statement: As the Bay Area, CA chapter of the Universal Zulu Nation, also known as the “Gateway Chapter”, we will improve our communities, make people aware within their community of events, issues, and provide the tools of empowerment. Educate the youth on / and about Hip Hop Culture involving the youth to become socially, politically, and community active. Hip Hop culture is our way of life and our tool by which we will reach out to our communities and put our activities into effect. We will also provide for ourselves the means of financial stability through our own resources (events, merchandise, products, etc).Events and projects that we will involve ourselves with include but are not limited to: • News letter (in combination with Lyrical Discipline) • Toy drives/ food drives/ clothing drives • Commemorative events … (MLK, Malcom X, Cesar Chavez) • “Brown Bag” Breakfast / Lunches • Workshops (Hip Hop/ Non Hip Hop related) • Talent shows/ showcases/ fashion shows • Hip Hop events (shows) • Conferences/ Panels
