Write2theHead is a Langton, Ontario based rock band. Was originally formed by Billie and Danny in late 2004. After recruiting member after member after member we have finally decided to reveal our true identity to the world.
Back in the day, Danny discovered a song called "I Don't Believe" by a band named "Soma Holliday". It was a great song and Danny wanted to sing it at a karaoke bar but it was never released. So Danny went out and bought a fender accoustic guitar handed it to Billie and said "Here you play and I'll sing" So they spent a week out at Danny's learning this tune then they took the fender to the karaoke bar and played this song for like 20 people.They all seemed to like it so we kept it up. Soon after that Billie had written an original song named "This One's For You". Danny and Billie spent a while practicing this new song and we were soon at the bar playing 2 songs. They were getting good responses from the crowds and decided they needed a band. Danny went out and found a cheap little drum kit and this young girl Amanda came over and beat the shit out of them so we told her "keep it up and we'll get you a good kit. But now we needed a rhythm guitarist and we found what seemed like 1000 but after picking through them all we found this guy Clint.Clint was a very good guitarist but didn't really fit our band. Then an outside friend of the band (Sean-0-) said "why don't you guys let Clint go and i will sit in untill you find someone better". Soon after that Sean-0- was a member to stay.Bass players seem to be very hard to find and we tried plenty then lucky for us we found Anthony Anderson and he was soon grovin with us nicely.
Hey this is Danny from the band I want to personally thank all of you for your continued support. Many peeps helped out along the way Thank you too all of you. Lastly I want to thank Dougie for giving me the opportunity to get going on this project without your support we wouldn't be here and its a debt I will never ever be truly able to repay.
WHAT IS Write2theHead???
We are a 5 member rock band that tries to do things a little bit different from everyone else.The age range in the group spans 4 generation from 18 to 42.The thinking here was to be able to draw from the influences each decade had to offer and combine all these into a sound that would span the generation gaps.We want everyone to want to listen to our music not just kids.We blend generic catchy melodies pack them with strong lyrics that depict real life situatuions hence the term "REALITY ROCK" and deliver a package of work chalked full of passion and compassion as we try to relate to the struggles of everyday life so that you will identify with our songs cause some time in your life you've been there too. ”Music has the responsibility of reaching down into your soul and stirring up the emotions that define you as a person. What does Write2theHead actually mean??
Rock n Roll like it our not will always be about sex and drugs it just comes with the territory.We wanted a name that was wicked cool for a band name plus could have a reference to the driving forces of both sex and drugs.It's a reflection of this band because all the musicians are completely versitile in their musical ability being able to interchange instruments even in live shows.Everyone in the band contributes with the writing of the music and lyrics so we needed a name that relected this kinda versitility.But most of all we wanted to have a name that made you THINK! We are not anti government we are anti establishment as todays society spirals downword glorifying greed over the human condition.Do you ever wonder why intelligent alien life never contacts us well we think it's because we don't conduct the affairs of this planet with intelligence!! GONE...BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
