I have two daughters (one was in college but is on hiatus and one in high school) and am recently divorced. I can be very intense and focused but still have a good sense of humor. I love trivia and enjoy talking with friends (or anyone for that matter). I talk to people I don't know at various events, sometimes to their distraction.I coached (both my daughters) competitive girls soccer for years. My 15 year old daughter is quite good and an extremely strong athlete but decided she did not want to play any longer...she got 'burned out'. As a result, I am no longer coaching...it just isn't the same without her on the team. Most of my close acquaintances were made as a result of soccer. The funny thing is that when I started coaching 15 years ago, I did not really like the sport...I was more into American football. After a short time, the sport became my obsession. I played as an adult but most people say I played more like a football linebacker than a soccer player. Unfortunately, I really can't play any longer...my knees won't take it. I still consider it the 'beautiful game' as it is referred to in the rest of the world.Since my younger daughter joined the high school track team, I have become more interested in that sport. It is really different for me to watch a sport versus coaching it but I am getting use to it. I think I would like to help at the track meets by becoming a timer. It's as close to participating as I can get.
