my family left me here- I smell FEAR and something new to me, it scares me, it smells of DEATH- the walls are cold,the floors are wet-cries from other places haunt me suddenly- lost souls, lonely goodbyes, over and over I hear their cries.
My family adopted me from a place like this, a long, long time ago.
They had to be "called away" "it's for our country they said to my youngest members as they cried and hugged me goodbye/
I thought they'd be back, as I was led to my destination.
I heard them talking in the car, as I thought we were going to the park- "we can always get another puppy" As I am led away into the dark....
