Formerly one half of the duo known as Marscruiser, this 14 year veteran DJ of the Midwest dance music scene is making waves in the dance music industry in more ways that one. His unique musical style, dubbed Breakmeat, Trekhouse, and Tronica, is making waves from coast to coast in the USA, as well as online. In his words “It’s like Breakbeats with meat on them, house with a Star Trek feel to it, and music you would here in an old ‘Tron’ movie.”
His previous tour dates have included New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit, Cleveland, Saint Louis, Omaha, Kansas City, Austin, Pensacola, Los Angeles, and San Diego. He has had the pleasure of opening for the likes of Frankie Bones, Cajmere, Goldie, DJ Irene, DJ Icey and Donald Glaude. Alex is well known as a very emotional DJ when he is on the decks, always getting involved with the crowd, getting as much reaction as possible out of every single record.
On the web, he is making waves on the well renowned website Hybridized.org alongside Hybrid and Way Out West, with over 30,000 downloads of his DJ sets to date. On MySpace, his fan base is growing at an incredible rate, with over 30,000 fans online, ranking him in the top 20 for both Progressive House and Breakbeat artists. In the past year Alex has seen his DJ sets on XM Satellite Radio, Proton Radio, Frisky Radio, and ETN.fm.
Having 8 years of production under his belt as half of Marscruiser, Alex’s first solo release, Future Living, received stellar reviews in early 2006. A handful of remixes in the past year have gotten praise from the likes of Phil K, 365 Mag.com, Thee-O, Lee Pennington, Chris Sterio, Momu, and Jondi & Spesh. His latest remix work is slated to appear on Undermine Records in the USA and Source of Gravity in the UK. To date, Alex has been a part of over 25 productions and remixes, with more solo and collaboration work out slated for later this year.
