Well, for lack of a picture, I'll describe myself: I'm about 5'8" with a bustluscious, beefy 19th century nude model physique (a little chunky, but not morbidly obese or anything), green eyes, pale skin, and black hair (it's growing out and I'm finally past that wretched space of time when I had a mullet)I'm married to an Englishman (more specifically, a Cornishman) I met on the internet and married in Vegas when I was 19. Sounds like a sure thing, right? Well, we've been married for 7 years. We had our first baby, a boy, last December we've named Ryan but he is also (and more frequently) known as The Boy, Stinkweed, and Stinky.I got a B.A. in English at UCLA and an A.O.S. in Culinary Arts from the California Scool of Culinary Arts. So if you want to discuss poetry and eat something yummy, I'm your girl.

My Interests

Music, cooking (and ultimately eating), art, travelling, books, sleeping, cuddling, the art of doing nothing.

I'd like to meet:

To sum it up, I'd like to meet people with a nice, dry sense of humor and a good appreciation of pleasure and pain...(not in a spank me-whip you-twist my nipples kind of way...unless you're into that kind of thing, of course)

Music:

(In no particular order) Radiohead, Goldfrapp, The Fratellis,The White Stripes, The Smiths/Morrissey, Belle and Sebastian, Kings of Convenience, Blur, Gomez, Manic Street Preachers, The Flaming Lips, The Stone Roses, (mid 90's) Pulp, New Order, The Shins, Turin Brakes, Portishead, Massive Attack, Morcheeba, Billie Holiday, Badly Drawn Boy, Depeche Mode (when nostalgic), Travis, Elbow, Cat Power, The Beatles, Ben Folds, PJ Harvey, Mansun, Supergrass, Iron and Wine, Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, The Rapture, Spoon, Franz Ferdinand, Scissor Sisters, Louis XIV, Jamie Cullum, The Arctic Monkeys, Amy Winehouse, Gene, Modest Mouse...this list could go on and on...

Movies:

Almost everything Tim Burton's ever done, The Royal Tenenbaums, The first Matrix, The Ring, Xanadu and Bram Stoker's Dracula (in all their cheezy glory), The Last Unicorn, Spirited Away, Amelie, old movies like Rebecca and other Hitchcock stuff, Breakfast at Tiffany's, etc., and much, much more!

Television:

Alan Partridge (aha!), Father Ted, The Office (British one, never seen the American one),South Park, Scrubs, The Simpsons, The Angry Beavers, Spongebob Squarepants, almost everything on the Food Network except Emeril (cocky, neckless sonofabitch), Subterranean on MTV2, all sorts of murder mysteries, those forensic science shows, and much, much more!

Books:

Villette, Wuthering Heights, and most major Victorian works except Dickens, most of Oscar Wilde's works, anything by Murakami, but especially The Windup Bird Chronicle; The Buddah of Suburbia, The Bell Jar, The Great Gatsby, East of Eden, anything by Davis Sedaris, cookbooks, the poetry of Silvia Plath, John Wilmot Earl of Rochester, the love poems of Pablo Neruda, T.S. Elliot, Anne Sexton...and much, much more! (I'll have to complete this list later. )

Heroes:

I haven't got any. But maybe you could be the wind beneath my wings.

My Blog

It's better to be pissed off than pissed on

I haven't done too much in the way of blogging, and I'm still getting used to the idea of being cool with everyone being able to read my internal narrative. If you work with me, there may be things in...

Migranes and Gizmo Piss

It's Wednesday afternoon and I've just emerged from my cocoon after about 15 hours of sleep. I got a horrendous migrane yesterday and my best course of action was to curl up in the fetal position and...
