November 1992 … East Germany, Frankfurt (Oder)
Volker Winkel (keyb.) and Dan d’Anyou (voc.) met in a discotheque by chance. Inspired by the “earlier” sound of Depeche Mode, they decided to make music together. Already soon started the works on first songs under the name „Black Mystery“. After short time Pete Jey (keyb.) came to “Black Mystery” and the band was complete.
The first professional recordings followed in a studio in Ziltendorf near Frankfurt (Oder) in October 1993. But during the recordings Volker left the band.
In April 1994 the studio work was finished. Pete Jey and Dan d’Anyou published the songs on the tape called “dark message” in the sales one..s own. As a substitute for Volker Winkel came Steve Göritz to the band.
From 1994 – 1996 „Black Mystery“ gave many concerts in clubs and discotheques in East Germany. The last gig of “Black Mystery” was as a support to the Australian synth pop band “Static Icon”.
During the concerts the first disagreements gave up within the band. Pete, Steve and Dan went separate musical ways from this time on.
Dan taught himself composing and arranging songs. With 10 new songs he returned into the studio at the end of 1996.
So Dan d’Anyou could publish his first CD album named "Response!" on August 1st, 1997. For the following shows of "Black Mystery" (from 1997-1999) he engaged different guest musicians.
On New Year’s Eve 1999-2000 ended the band story of “Black Mystery”. At the same time Dan d’Anyou founded his new project called “toxic·N·blue”.
In spring 2000 Dan returned into the studio once again. Here he..s produced the songs “But not tonight”, “toxic & blue” and “Undone”. Short time later “toxic·N·blue” got the first commercial TV appearance with the song “But not tonight”.
In summer 2002 Dan d’Anyou started to work as radio presenter and also as sound engineer in a studio. At the end of 2005 Dan chuck up all jobs and returned in his home studio to produce new songs.
The new studio recordings started in March 2007 in Berlin at “K16 Studio” with Andreas Koerber. At this time Dan d’Anyou worked with full energy on the forthcoming album.
