About Me

Meat Machine is the nom de song, under which I write, record, and on rare occasion perform music all by my lonesome.

Year Two (2008) {10 songs so far} To be completed sometime this year, Year Two is a document of roots grown and leaves turned over on the new coast. Featuring the fine talents of Diana Caplan, Abbey Mondshein, and hopefully more friends, with cover art by Jon Goldy. Rough cuts can be found here .

Interstate 80 (2006) {10 songs, 22:01} The travelogue of my Westward migration. Available in antiquated physical format upon request, with cover art by Zack Davis. Download full album in .mp3 or .ogg format, or as individual tracks .

Other collaborative musical exploits include participating in the punk-rock-noise-attack that was Kid Presentable from 2001-2006, and performing as the lesser of half of The Exterminatorrs in 2006.

I am a strong advocate of a shared and participatory culture. All of my music is released under a Creative Commons BY NC SA license . Please, turn my nouns into verbs.

Influences: Right now I am using my time and effort to sing about things that are important to me, like: the role of direct action, staying positive, not closing our eyes, being perceptive of our social environment, appreciation for the natural world, the value of sincerity, topics The Smiths sang about (ex. hanging the DJ), being helpful, being productive while we still can, undeviating love without the need for reciprocation, daisies and birds and scientists, why Tom Kleczka is the best, best laid plans for riding bikes, how the governing bodies are intimidating, how happy I am that it is getting warmer outside, my favorite color, clearing out my grandfather's studio, birds and bombs, big cities, the way I used to hold your hands, the month immediately betwixt December and February, that shaking feeling I get that makes my body feel like I'm suffocating when we talk on the phone and your words are like breathing, my theories that you are actually a charizard, the stetch of highway from here to there, and why we're all in this together.

As a listener, I've been influenced by many, many, different musicians, authors, artists, employees, officers, directors, engineers, vagabonds, compatriots, and fellow survivors. This is neither here nor there.
