About Me

REVIEW FROM BATTLE OF THE BANDS SHOW: "First up were Fortune Favours the Brave. Id heard of this lot before, and all good things Ill admit, and as their set started it did feel very nice indeed. I was expecting emo.. I was expecting obvious (dont ask me why), but what I got was entirely more interesting. FFtB provide on many levels, with melancholy minor chords shimmering away over rolling drums, slowly pacing along. The lead singer/ bassists understated vocals remind me of a mix between a more subdued Chino Moreno (Deftones) and something you might hear on Come on Die Young by Mogwai. FFtB draw out the quiet parts until you cant bear for it not to kick in, and then when it does, its pretty special. Im all for a bit of screaming and FFtBs guitarists has got what it takes. The dynamic of quiet/ loud, soft vocal/ harsh vocal scores a direct hit with me, and I have to say Im dying to see this band with a better sound system"
