Former Phuture Productions Dj / light & sound technician from a time that no longer exists, standing on the high water mark where that high and mighty wave finally crashed and pulled back to the sea. Someday I'll write a script about it, and I'll need everybody who was there to compile it with me.
I will never forget being a part of Phuture Productions, traveling all over the Northeast performing astonishing lightshows, pushing 50,000 watt soundsystems until the subwoofers burned, spinning records until the crowd surged with ecstasy, and bonding friendships that have stood the test of time and mortality. There have been times since I have owned little more than a box of records, two turntables, a cheap Gemini mixer and a bag of clothes. I never lost hope in a return of the vibe, I've stayed true to electronic music and would love to see a comeback of the New England rave scene. It was my home for several years and the people I knew were like family to me.
Over the past 10 years I have moved six times and over 14,000 miles from one coast of the United States to the next. I have shaken hands with politicians and celebrities, homeless vets and alcoholics. I have been broke and beaten, wealthy and strong, lost and forgotten, and home where I am loved. I've slept in California kings and felt the hard wood of a cold floor. Had the feeling of living on the edge and never stopping, but wanting to leave and never look back. Felt the energy of thousands of people in harmony, swelling like a giant surge about to break at any moment, and seen something I love get destroyed. I have taken walks down very unusual streets and seen some things even I can't really explain. I owe my experiences to every person who endured them with me, I would not be who I am today without them. Catch me sometime when I'm drunk and I'll tell you the story of my life, as long as you've got five seconds to spare.
I find my fun now in Taekwon-do. While competing internationally I have met a great deal of people from all over the world, and am a member of the United States Taekwon-Do Federation. I find a great deal of accomplishment in competing. The people I meet have opened my eyes to cities and cultures I never knew existed. It also gives me a great deal of pleasure to exhibit and compare all that I have learned of this incredible Martial Art.
I live in Maynard, Massachusetts with my Wife Meaghan our cat Dusty, our crazy cat Ruru and the memory of our cat Rockey. I make my money as a Production Assistant for Boston Films, and I teach Taekwon-Do on the side. I instruct and train at The Concord School of Taekwon-Do in Concord, Massachusetts and the people I train with are some of the finest people I have ever met.
