CRUISES

after learning melodica and accordion in his early childhood hamburg native songwriter christian pfau wasn't active in the musical field until he heard some recordings by his friend sascha in 1992. christian's growing interest in writing own songs were supported by a keyboard his parents bought for their two sons in the same year and he started learning keyboard by teaching himself. soon christian began writing his own songs and after getting an 8 track recorder in 1994 a collaboration between sascha and christian resulted in some great tunes like "the fight's not over" or "jody". in 1995 christian started taking guitar lessons from diploma guitar player klaus volland for three years. between 1998 and 2001 christian focused on changing some cellar space into a home studio. he developed his knowledge in recording, mixing and producing and started a remixing project with the name SIGN'C. in 2001 CRUISES was founded along with christian's first hard disk recorded song "i'm alive". since then various sessions and jams were hold in christian's creative music space. joining occasionally were christian's old pal sven pfarr, also singer of hamburg's ska-rock band CHOKE , and soul brother and guitarist sascha restor. in 2004 christian took part in the national songwriter contest hold by emi & mtv. in 2005 he packed two socks and his guitar and went to discover Australia. he lived for one year in Sydney where he got in touch with some very interesting people, f.i. folk rock singer/songwriter LAURA IMBRUGLIA or linda portnoff from the swedish band STELLA ROCKET . in 2006 christian returned home, his bag full of songs he wrote during his stay in down under. in spring 2007 CRUISES recorded the first of the new written songs with the title "I won't change my mind". more will follow this year! stay tuned!
