About Me

For Boola, to make it as a producer in this game, one must constantly increase their music catalog and take music to new levels on a regular basis. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Boola, now 29, grew up in Hempstead Long Island, which is where he started writing rhymes at a young age. "I've been naturally doing music since around 7th grade, rapping and playing around with turntables", said Boola "It's a growing process". It is clear upon hearing his work that the process is working for Boola. When he met Darrin Chandler, Damon Dash's cousin who was then working for Geffen Records, things started to take shape for this emerging producer. His first big break came in 2002 when he produced the beat for the song "Did Ya Say That" on GZA's Legend of the Liquid Sword album. When Chandler accepted a position as Vice President of Roc-A-Fella Records in 2003, he brought Boola along as in-house producer. At Rocafella, he met his current mentor Gary Big Face Bien-Aime, Director of A&R at Roc-A-Fella. Boola credits Big Face for giving him a chance and eventually taking him in as a part of the Roc-A-Fella family. Since then Boola has produced music for artists including Beanie Sigel, Joe Budden, Kanye West, Nicole Wray, Nore, Freeway, Young Gunz, M.O.P, Peedi Crakk, Rell, Camron, Juelz Santana, and Twista among others. When it comes to his music Boola doesn't want to reserve himself to one signature sound at this point in his career."Right now Im versatile", he says "I don't want to close myself in with one sound because that can be limiting. I make all types of beats. Rock, soul, fast, slow. I do it all." Adaptability is just part of the job for Boola. Boola has also made time to get his music featured in the Lions Gate/Dash Music Films release State Property 2. and was also recently invited as a speaker for the ROC Urban Music Seminar in the U.K.In addition to all of his accomplishments musically, Boola is also looking forward to the exploring his other talents: starting a talent/management company, acting, designing for a sneaker/clothing line, and writing for future projects. Although it sounds like a lot of fun, Boola maintains that what he is doing takes a lot of drive. Its still all work though,he adds. "Its not easy. You cant stop. You gotta keep moving... ™Boola's Discography
